March 19, 20206 yr I've been installing Axperts for years purely as backup systems. I now have a client that wants a backup system for now but wants to add PV and then go grid- tied after that. I've suggested the Goodwe ES 4.6kW Hybrid Inverter (4.6KW Backup) with 2 x Pylontech US2000B's as batteries. My question is can the this inverter run as pure backup using the grid to charge the batteries and then using the batteries during loadshedding without PV and without feeding back into the grid? Would that be Mode 4? I just don't want to spec the inverter and find out it won't work without a PV array in the interim.
March 19, 20206 yr yes it can. Its a hybrid inverter that can start using battery or solar or grid as far as I understand. check settings guide.
March 30, 20206 yr Yes, using PV master, then basic settings, set mode 3(backup) and on advanced settings change backup output switch to ON. It is just below backup ON. You also need to set charging schedules as the default is 00:00 to 23:59.
April 16, 20206 yr Morning just be warned it does not like generator power. It will run but probably fail after a while.
