It wasn't a UFO, it was KLEVA's head exploding! I am out, I have no idea what/where this thread went and the acronyms have exceeded my ability to Google fast enough... Took me wot, 4 years(?), before I though I may need maybe software and then just because for I did the maths before I bought, never having needed software to swap my system over, having been able to read data from devices long before you even knew there where Axperts. 

So, I just though I would move with the times maybe and rather than developing YET ANOTHER PACKAGE, which by the way JDP, I was forced to then develop, after I "begged" with others to include more devices. 

But calling me a "beggar", seriously JDP, you want to reconsider?

I recall me "begging" you to add more devices, offering to buy in or you out of AICC and then when you PM the last offer you went and dished it out for free. 

Having talked Plonkster into moving further with his software, unfortunately for me he just did not have the time and I could not wait longer.

So I was forced to go out and get MORE software written and then I "begged" and wallaaa ... sommer merged Ks4 Solar Reader with SolarMon, two becoming one i.e solWEB?

Plonkster that is awesome!!!You've clearly been at this for a while. I'll try to liberate my pi2 from my daughter to try out your code, right now it's running xbmc for her stories, it will be a challenge. Ive had the same considderations as you with the stm boards, so that it can act as usb host, also the amount of processing power for cost and built in touch screen is a winner. Problem I have really is that I'm struggling with arm development. I was a software developer for 7 years but I'm talking old school c.

I'll demistify one for you. SoC, in this case, isn't for State of Charge. It is for System on Chip. The chip makers are into that kind of thing now, make a single chip with a LOT of useful stuff on it, like usb ports, ethernet ports, can bus ports, serial ports, general purpose io pins (that you can turn on, off, or pulse using PWM -- pulse width modulation), etc. Some of these things, especially the STM32 range, are configurable. You can DECIDE whether you want to use that pin as an input, an output, a can bus... etc. The data sheets are usually over a hundred pages, because it has to explain all that stuff...
