I have been wondering how the number of cycles is calculated by the battery BMS. If a battery is rated for 4000 cycles to a DOD of 80%, how would the BMS calculate the cycles if I only discharge it to 60%?

    Each discharge to 60% is 40% of one cycle. Doing this 2.5x would equate to 1 cycle.
