That's up to the company that runs that service. But the complex's account will get whatever increase is specified in the new tariffs, so you are going to pay more.

I have a 5kw in the garage. Even though noise is not an issue, the temperature of the inverter worries me. The minimum I have seen is 68°C and maximum of close to 90°C.
I will try this hack and see how much the temp drops.

As I said in the post, the temperature hasn't gone that high since I put a fan. I don't know whether the inverter is reporting false readings but the heat sinks really feel hot to the touch during the day.
As I'm writing now, the inverter is reporting 54.5degC but the inverter fans are not on. Maybe it's just false readings, I don't know.

I have a 5kw Sunsynk and have my geyser on aux. I primarily heat my water with a heat pump to 60 degrees  and then the geyser to 70 degrees Celsius. The Aux works well enough if its a clear day. It will use battery up till the specified SOC before turning off the AUX port.
Sometimes the AUX port wont be turned on even with excess PV, i usually just turn on the kettle briefly and that wakes up the aux port. I think the inverter has no way of knowing how much excess PV is available unless if you put a load that triggers it.

at that price it will be a hard sell,
recently I saw a lot of ads for 500 - 550w panels for R2300 -R2800( JA, Canadian, Jinko) per panel. it seems as if the prices crashed.

Very clever, I like that, perfect use of the Aux port.

I changed mine to 2kw. The difference is that my geyser is on the aux port(i use a heat pump to primarily heat my water). I only use the geyser when there is "Excess" solar power to heat up the water to 70 degrees since heat pump only goes to 60.

Since there's no panels involved, you don't need a lot of cleverness.

EG on my system I would create a single rule that tells it to charge from 00:00 to 23:59 every day. So when there's grid it charges the batteries, fairly quickly, and then keeps them charged until the grid goes down again.

So I take your point, but you don't need the smartest inverter in town for this purpose.

Yes, Growatt spf5000es, I have two in parallel running for over 1 1/2 years, so far so good, no complains. But and I quote (Also i will be installing the inverter inside the house so a quiet one would be ideal.) be aware they are Just a bit noisy.

sunsynk 5kw is silent but a bit pricey for a UPS type scenario.

At a good price point, the Growatt spf5000es is a good inverter for UPS type functionality. And in future you can add panels if/when the need arises.
The fan may be an issue if you use constant loads closer to the high end.
If you run mostly base loads the fan will not be an issue.

This rebuild has been a major success. After about 10 cycles I am happy to report that the Hoppecke has been fully restored to produce & store energy again.
The function of top or bottom balancing cannot be stressed enough.

i have an LBSA battery, i haven't had issues. If i remember correctly, they will only fetch the battery if you had it delivered but if you collected in person you have to bring it to their offices.

Thank you guys, it has worked for me. I ended up just cutting an Ethernet cable and making the joins according to the above suggestions.

phidz reacted to Steve87 in Freedomwon+ Deye
If you can crimp a cable like this it will work. So a 1:1 cable will definitely not work. If you don't have a RJ45 Crimper then use a Chocolate block connector then cut a normal LAN cable then join pin 4 & 5 with Pin 7 & 8 & leave the rest. The match up the 4 & 5 to the CAN port of the inverter & the other side pin 7 & 8 to the battery.
