  1. It does not show the watts. Only the pv voltage and the amps going into the battery. I don't think it is the best inverter
  2. Ok. So after disconnecting all the panels. And connecting one back. It started to charge the power the load. And charge the battery a little I then connected a second panel in parallel and it is now charging the battery. But the cloud link does not register the solar. It is a very cloudy day. But seems the 2 panels are generating around 50% power. so seems right. I'll add the other 2 panels one at a time in parallel. This will be under the 50amps
  3. Thanks for all the replies. I'll try find a replacement charge controller as we just install a Hubble cloud link to be able to control when the inverter uses solar battery or grid. Not sure how it will work if it uses a external charger
  4. Oh no. Probably should have paralleled all of them. Would have been under the 50amps I'll try open it up over the weekend and see if I can see anything Does anyone know if the charge controller is a separate module and if I could buy a replacement one from somewhere
  5. I have a similar set up that I installed for my parents. They have the axpert ps 3kva it does not say the solar watts. But assuming that the 50a x 24v it is a max of 1200w of solar I have since added 4 ja solar 365w panels. 2s2p. But the inverter registers the solar panels but it is not charging the batteries or using it for the load. we also added a Hubble cloud link in order to monitor and check the production. when the panels are disconnected from the inverter they are generating 77v but as soon as they connect, the voltage drops to 42v but does not charge or power the load. Does anyone have any solutions or have expected the same problem. And am I misunderstanding the 80v max solar voltage.
  6. Thank you all for your replies My panels are on adjustable stands, I have them at 35 degrees now in winter, and dropped them to 15 degrees in summer. I think the best options would be to reconfigure my panels in 2S4P possibly even with a disconnect for the 2 end panels for winter. I'm not sure if they would drop the production of the entire system Unfortunately I don't have any more space on my roof at the moment, Ill have a look into the solar optimizer
  7. I currently have 12 solar panels connected as below to a Axpert 5kva Inverter. +- 3.8kw of panes. However, In winter 2 of the panels spend most of the day in some shade. does anyone have a suggestion to re wire the panels to possibly omit the two end panels in winter. In summer it is not so much of a issue as the sun is much higher. As you can see, this photo was taken at 12-30 and there is still shade on the two end panes This is my first winter with this set up, and I know production is lower in winter. But my system is peaking at around 2.2kw and my total daily production is down from 15kwh to 9kwh on a clear day. is this normal for winter, or is it a result of the shading on my panels
  8. Thanks, So if the stairs are on a external wall. and we created at louver in the wall for ventilation, and kept a door on the enclosure
  9. Hi, Sorry if this has been posted before, I was just not able to find anything, and after a few minutes of searching, I decided to post the question. Is the any regulations on where you can store to batteries for a off grid installation, For instance, I have 2 pylontech 3500B batteries with a 5kva inverter. Would I be able to install this inside a house, say under a staircase? or would it have to be installed in a garage or in a Containment room? Besides the noise of the inverter fans, would this be safe to do. Thank you in advance
  10. Hi, yes the inverter does have mppt. The fans do make a bit of a noise, but they do not run all the time. So not to bad. The 5kva I have just installed has its fans running almost constant when on load and solar
  11. The equipment was bought in March 2016 As you can see the average depth of discharge was 35% and the this depth of discharge, you should expect 2250 cycles and i have only used 236 cycles. Even at the deepest discharge you could expect over 1000 cycles
  12. Would anyone like to make me a offer. Im needing to sell this equipment to buy more solar panels. No one has said my pricing is to expensive, so im assuming the pricing is ok, but im open to a offer
  13. I would consider selling all Items separately if i can pre-line up a buyer for all the Items * 3kva axpert Inverter - R4500 * 4x Trojan T105 re - R9000 * Victron bmv-700 - R2100 * Raspberry pi with registered ICC - R2100 Or R17 500 for All
  14. What do the experienced members of the forum think of my pricing. I took the total new cost of all items. And this is 60% of the total.
  15. I have upgraded my solar setup to a new 5kva inverter and 2 pylontech batteries. I'm selling my my complete previous setup * 3kva axpert Inverter * 4x Trojan T105 re * Victron bmv-700 * Raspberry pi with registered ICC I bought new pi and software so I can sell this setup with the complte record of the battery usage. I have already done my change over. The setup is ready to go I would like to get around R18 500 for the complete setup Please feel free to ask for any further information
  16. Thanks for the reply How do I make sure ICC is communicating with the BMV properly It does look like the inverter state of charge is higher than that from the Pylontech. If i go to the Pylontech tab, it does show it is receiving data I do have setting 29 at 42.0V
  17. Im also having the same issue I have a Axpert 5kva invert form the Sun Pays with 2x Pylontech. I find that the batteries get to 91% and then the solar shuts off. Have you guys found the issue yet? today i ran the inverter with no load and the same problem.
  18. Dyness 3.6kwh.pdfDyness 2.4kwh.pdf Im not sure if these help. Im also looking to buy 2 3.6kwh I have not been able to find much info or reviews on these batteries
  19. Have you sold your pylontech batteries yet

I see it is the same phone number as the solarcity RSA website

    6kw Li-iron tech

Thanks for the reply This is the store that is selling them http://li-iontech.co.za/index.php/product/12kwh-lithium-ion-batteries-with-10yrs-warranty-last-year-stock-clearance-sale-50-off/ Anyone know if this store is actually at Moffitt retail park in pe
  22. Has anyone had any experience with the 6kw Li-iron tech batteries from Li-iron tech RSA in moffet Retail park in port Elizabeth. Im looking to buy 2 for my 5kva axpert Inverter Any advice would be welcomed
  23. Where did you buy your batteries. I'm also looking to buy 2 batteries to work with my axpert 5kva and will also need the settings
  24. Sorry. Should have said live and neutral. Yes it the braker on a external DB It is still under warranty and took it back to the supplier this morning. They said they will contact me on Monday. My worry is it could take ages to get new parts if that's the problem. How available are replacement parts? Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
  25. It seems to be just tha ac input. Because the inverter continued to work off the solar and batteries. I would not have known there was a problem if I did not check solarMon and see there was no AC power coming onto the inverter Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
