Add some more solar :) Always a good excuse 🥰 to add more solar.
For anyone else interested, those small older units are becoming profitable again now if you have free/spare solar power to run them during the day :)

I would probably need another inverter as well as wife will freak if she has to limit appliances.

I was running the S9 at 1400W all day and 600W overnight from batteries. That was +-R30 a day. And I see BTC is on the up.

For me even R30 a day is better than an expensive bidirectional meter and getting any credits from the municipality.

  3. I have 2 parallel strings on one mppt on a sunsynk 8kw.

220v 26A string. On a sunny day the inverter will clip the current at 20A but on a partly cloudy day with all the cloud Edge it was often shutdown the mppt for a few seconds or even trip the inverter with a DC overcurrent fault.

Just don't over panel the current like I did.

  4. What's impressive is the C rating. Yes it's early days for these types of cells but the future of battery tech is changing fast. The fact that these cells are coming from CATL is a positive.

I'll wait for them to be cheaper than lithium and will build a 8S as a test.

Buy them and give us your view. Also include if you bought a new inverter.

I have not seen a bms compatible yet. I'm not saying I want them but they seem to be a big part of the future. Plus side it could help lower the price of lithium if you would like to stay with lithium.

Some Chinese EV's getting sold with CATL sodium batteries.

    Hi Sc00bs,

    Hope you´re still here!

I'm awaiting approval of my account, but i can't wait to ask about the above statement.

I am (very) close to finishing my pv setup, using a Deye 12 kW hybrid inverter. I'll over panel a bit more than recommended with a total of 16920 Wp all facing the same direction. this is around 41% more than the 12 kW, but only 8,5% more than the max pv input of 15600 W

Do you think that the inverter can handle this? you seem to actually know the working principles of the mppt's

Some say that it's not a problem, and others that it will kill the inverter

Please note that i am 100% sure that Voc and Isc is okay, also in coldest conditions. The only thing that's over limit is the wattage

Do your whole 12740 watt array point in the same direction?

    Thanks in advance

    Anders

Need some info on how you are wiring your arrays and the panel specs.

    Hi all. Same story here.

I think my prepaid meter tripped as I am not getting a 3 - 4 day reading on Tshwane portal. Been 5 days now. Eish.

    1. Who do I contact to check or restart? Tshwane pretoria smart meter in Hennopspark light industrial.

    150kWp, 200ah, 120 panels (Deye 50 kW x 3)

I set my zero export power to 50w initially but I am getting some leakage back to grid. Changed it now to 20w for all 3 inverters.

Zero export to CT set with CT's.

Newby here and I need help please?

    Much appreciated

Why don't you feedback with all those panels?

Look for meter reset codes on internet

So it seems there was a misunderstanding around the 280cells, when I was asked if I want the box, I took it as box of 4 cells, and it was meant as the diy box. The misunderstanding was cleared, and will pickup the cells in the morning.

As I unserstand it, the 304 cells will be available again Friday, but due to my holiday schedule I will have to go with the 280s.

I would personally wait for the 304Ah

Received this so pricing is not so cheap, working on exchange rate of +_ R19 to dollar the Standard battery works out to R51K plus shipping.

@PowerUser this was always their offering. Even Andy's videos showed this. Now when they are told that their pricing doesn't suit the South African market they put in a very unknown cell that's obviously cheaper than EVE or REPT

So just a small update, on the last post I replied to gobel the pricing doesn't fit the SA market well, they have actually gone and lowered it for us, which I think speaks volumes, and I am actually impressed

    Here is the updated pricing.

Never heard of that cell. Probably the reason for the price reduction

My experience with Apexium have been bad.

So I have been given excuses since I paid on Friday, why I cannot collect. First, they said they need to wait for the money, before they can release, which mind you, paypal to paypal is instant.

I was told today is the day, I arranged accordingly to be in the area so that I can collect as soon as I receive the reference, I was eventually told the cells I ordered were sold out by another sales person, and offered the 280 as an alternative.

Since I did not want the drive to be for nothing, I agreed on the alternative. This was around 8:30 this morning.

9:40, I was told I short paid, when in actual fact they are trying to upsell me the DIY box now, when I refused, I was told a refund will be done. As the complete boxes are all they have.

I am very frustrated, now let's see how long this refund will actually take.

Not good. Why don't you just take the cells and organise your own bms?
