What keeps flexible conduit in place?
Can one not glue it into a coupler etc? My googling indicated the flexible conduits just break off where glued down, i.e. it reacts badly and weakens it where glued

What keeps flexible conduit in place?
Say you have the final connection from a sub db to the inverter 15cm away. Flexible conduit seems like the perfect solution. What keeps it in place though? Do you just cut it to size and leave it?

Why are circuit breakers always wired in from the top out from the bottom
i.e the top is line and the bottom load. Is this a convention? A SANS requirement? Sometimes depending on where the wire is coming from and going to it would be a lot neater to have the incoming wires connect to the bottom terminals and the outgoing to the top. i.e. with earth leakages adjacent to the mains switch. Otherwise you have large loops of wire going round the side of the db.

Would using a Victron 12v charger used every now and then also solve the issue? I would rather get a 12v charger for now or should i just bite the bullet...

Batteries in series out of balance
I have two lithium 12v 100ah batteries in series and from the bluetooth app I can see they have gotten out of balance. The one charges up to 100% and then the BMS kicks in and both batteries do not charge any further so the second one only hits 90%. What is the best strategy? Get a Victron battery balancer or get a 12v charger and separately charge the 90% up and periodically charge them both up separately? A separate charger is more useful in general to me for general purpose charging. Also if I do this do i have to disconnect the link between the two batteries on can i leave the batteries as is and just connect the charger to the relevant battery's terminals?

I also had the same problem, unless we stage 18 and any drop helps I also concluded it is unfortunately a waste of time and currently the trustees wont allow it anyways. I also noticed the summer sun doesn't hit the spot like the winter sun does and the location is just really non-ideal

@Coulombwhy can some of these clones like http://www.chinasuoer.com/about/ have products that are marketed as silent once charged yet a Voltronics makes a huge racket and if you try disconnect the fan you watch the temperature soar. Is it possible these clones have solved this problem?

Cheapest way to detect loadshedding
No I haven't worked on this problem since due to shortage of time but if i have to get multiple components that add up to a good few bucks I would rather just get an AIO sonoff loadshedding kit

Separating AC and DC wiring
The real solution is just chase the wall and add conduits from the inverter to the db and inverter to the batteries. We looking at doing that at my dads house. Where at all possible this is the undoubtedly the cleanest solution over trunking on the wall

@isetechLook at Sonop Solar's website for installers for follow the regs to the T, they just double up on trunking. Regs seem kind of useful so you cant accidentally put AC on DC etc but then i got electricity meter display DC wires coming in the same cable sheath as the mains etc and i assume that is compliant

Why does an inverter out from your main db need a double pole breaker but not your geyser or plugs etc? My Axpert also needed a double pole breaker but I still don't understand why

How did your installer join those thick 16mm2 wires to extend to the inverter? Also what happens if the inverter fails between the supply mains and your Earth Leakage?

Bending thick wires
How do you efficiently bend thick wires like 10mm to 16mm, say you want to link two neutral bars together so you need a 16mm bridge, that stuff is impossible to bend at 90 degree angles without actually bruising your fingers. I tried pliars but those damage the insulation. There must be a more efficient method

Schneider MCBs on samite board
Afaik they are compatible with both DIN and samite. They have slots on the top that fit perfectly into the samite mounting system, but the bottom never clicks into place and they fall off . i must be missing something here.

No solar as it is an apartment. The noise is not that important in the greater scheme as we only turn on the Axpert during loadshedding when it is actually mostly silent if your load is low like ours, and I am going to install a cheap sonoff to charge during the day when we out. However if one model is silent and the other isn't at the same or nearby price point I would take the silent one. The Geewiz unit is definitely a clone that is why I am wary of it unless people can vouch for it. The Synapse may or may not be a clone but it is used by a lot of people

They have surge capabilities of 6000W, and they pull additional power to charge the batteries. The Axpert manuals suggests 4mm2 and 30amp breakers for the 3000w, and it seems a bit ridiculous as you got a few seconds of surge power only...

Best 2/3000w Axpert style inverter
I currently have a 2000w Axpert that I am thinking of gifting to my folks and getting myself a slightly bigger model. I was thinking of a Synapse 2.4kw https://www.takealot.com/synapse-3000va-2400w-v-24v-off-grid-inverter/PLID69233408 [better prices elsewhere] or https://www.geewiz.co.za/geewiz-inverters/102597-geewiz-axpert-3000va-3000w-pure-sine-wave-solar-inverter-50a1200w-pwm-hybrid.html . The cons with the first are I know for a fact it is noisy. The cons of the second one are it is unknown afaik in that I have never read any reviews from people using it. The 2400w should just fit with the existing wiring for 20a, but the 3000w is going to be a nuisance and probably require 4mm cabling and a 30a breaker etc, and my changeover is only rated at 25a etc etc What is a good option here?

I assume this is an Axpert clone then. Does anyone have any experience with this product, is it of good quality and silent as claimed, as good as the Voltronics ones? Why if they can be silenced then would voltronics not silence theirs to the extent possible?
