If there is no trees that can cast shadows, how can the orientation make a difference? it is not as if the panel knows it is horizontal or vertical :)
I think your panels will work exactly the same in either orientation or mixed.

I am actually a little embarrased as I should have checked his settings before posting - nevertheless the point here is never assume that your installer setup your installation correctly :-(
In essence, everyone was correct - the dip switch settings on 2 batteries were wrong as well as the communication cables were not in the correct ports - thanks @-cK- and @I84RiS - your posts made me double check my friends settings and we found it.
Herewith the correct settings / cable ports (he has a 12kwh Deye Inverter with 3 x Hubble AM-5 batteries).
The Picture of the Li-BMS now shows the 300A that was missing previously :-)

LiBMS screen showing 100A discharge limit. Something likely wrong with the inter battery communication, or dips switches set incorrectly or something not correct with the battery inverter communication.

Are the comms cable between the batteries connected and are the dip switches set correctly will be my first check.
I don't have a Deye but a Sunsynk and on that last screen it looks to me it is only seeing 1 battery. I'm pretty sure those current limit should be showing 240A at least for 3 batteries. When I was on 3 batteries (different battery make) I had those showing as 240A on charge and discharge and when the comms cables was pulled during some testing those would drop down accordingly.
Perhaps worth a double check to make sure.

@Marcodp NB! In my case the registration is for an inverter (identified by serial number, make & model) supplying a specified stand. IE it is non-transferable. If I move and I take the equipment with me then I can't take the registration with me. Really the registration is for an installation at a certain physical location. I would have to install at the new address and register from scratch.

OTOH if I sell the house as is, the new owner would get a legal, certified system with a letter confirming the registration. They would not have to worry about registration or about being caught in an unregistered state. Selling point? IDK.

Or that's how it is for City Power customers. You might want to get the details of this.

I have no intention of exporting. The reality is that my system does export a small amount (< 0.5kWh) each day. This may be effecting my meter, but I don't worry about that because the alternatives are going to cost me a lot more.

But exporting is just a couple of taps on an app away. My system doesn't export right now, and didn't when the guys from City Power inspected (I don't know if they tested for this or just took the engineer's word for it). But it COULD. So IDK, what would I do about that? Well... one solution would be a meter that trips when I try to export and so cuts the grid connection. I think that's what will happen right now if I tried to seriously export - but I don't want to find out the hard way. The other possibility is that the meter will allow me to export but will bill me for it. There are ways that a utility can make it painful for folks who say they have no intention of exporting whilst crossing their fingers behind their back.

Having typed all that, I think I am agreeing with you.

This does not apply for pure off grid systems as far as i know.

I can give some general answers. I'm not an Eskom client, but I have had my system registered.
You live in Cape Town. There must be companies there doing registration & especially checking for compliance. Because COCT requires registration ahead of installation. You should be able to find somebody. Up here in Gauteng there are companies that deal in registration, I'd expect Cape Town to be better off in that regard because of the greater demand (which comes because of enforcement of the regulations).
Once you find that person I would think that if they're doing a decent job they would check your system for compliance and advise you.
One of the reasons Eskom will want to replace your meter is so that you can sell back to the grid. To do that you need a meter that can differentiate what you sell from what you buy and thus allow accurate billing.

If 7 & 8 are dry contacts that gets internally switched to close condition as in point 4. , yes the Neutral can flow to A2 of the contactor/Relay with the grid alive.
But if the contact is open in the Grid down condition like he say in 4. , no Neutral can flow to A2 and you won't have a bridge between Neutral and Earth via R1 & R2
because he uses a N/O contact (point 7.)
The way I read the manual, 7 & 8 is for Gen signal, nothing to do with Signal Island Mode.
Why he not just uses the ATS available on pins 19 & 20 I don't know. See page 17 of the manual.

Your drawing is correct.
If possible, try to mount the relay in your Inverter output DB, then run your 2 ATS wires there.

Hi all, my dad was scammed out of R37 000 for a battery from ‘The Solar Mart.’ They are definitely a scam company. We have also logged a fraud case with SAPS and our banks are investigating. Please note that they appear to be using multiple bank accounts including Capitec, Nedbank and Absa bank. I have also reported their website to SAFPS. 
 
I really hope we can spread the news far and wide so that this website can be taken down and no more people will be scammed from their hard earned money.   

Fica is a joke  - ask any Pakistani cell repair shop for a pre-registered sim card, they always have. The banks (all of them) are too lazy to follow up on scams!!

They are scammers - I also bought a battery from them and while they were fast to respond initially, they went quiet and ignored me. I have called Capitec to let them know what these guys are involved in as well. 
They confirmed that they got my money and told me they would send it on Monday afternoon (last week) and now it says "trash".

Their SCAM is obvious for all to see ... most certainly a fraudulent company/website..... it needs to be shut down!

I initially posted some feedback (above) and then edited my feedback to "interesting" after I got a threatening email from them to take things further (see pic below) - read it ("persuade further" 🤐)... and then updated again with a summary after posting the below.
In summary - as it stands today (06/02), it looks like my money is gone - I have opened a criminal case of fraud against this company and reported them to their bank.
Read my experience and make your own mind up.
PS: Herewith some initial warning signs that I missed: No phone Number, no unit number shown on their address and they only accept EFT...oh and they only have 1 unit left (isn't this always the case to hook you). I also called the Infinity Business Park property administrators who did not know of this company.
Here is my experience - They are excellent responding to the chat on their website as well as by email. Thier site looks good, and their prices look even better than most (maybe this is also a warning sign) ... in short everything looks legit. You can create an account, log in and track your orders etc. In my experience, there is nothing that makes one feel there is something wrong.
After chatting to them on their website (they were very responsive) I placed my order (I have attached my chat as reference) - everything sounded great.
After I placed my order, their response was excellent, an account was created for me, I got an invoice, and I got an email advising me of EFT details - I was advised that the order is on hold until payment had been received. The email correspondence looks excellent, wording and language is good all very professional.
I paid immediately by EFT and advised them I had done so - they advised that they ship the goods once the funds reflect into their account.
all good so far .... so, I thought 😞
As my order was placed on Saturday and I belong to another Bank, I did not expect the funds to reflect on Monday, so I let Monday pass. On Tuesday morning I emailed them and asked for an update where they responded that the money had not yet reflected into their account. 
This seemed strange so I contacted my bank (Nedbank) who advised that Capitec had received the funds on Monday already and sent me a bank PoP which I then forwarded to them and asked for an update.
They responded (relatively quickly) and advised that they would send this to their admin dept to check.
then silence for the rest of the day ...
On Wednesday morning I sent a follow-up email advising that since they had received the funds on Monday, if they did not ship the goods, they need to cancel my order and refund me (by this stage I was already very anxious) 
Their response was professional ...but look at it and you will see its rubbish - I attached it below for all to see (honestly people must think everyone is stupid) - they first tell me the money was returned and shows on their bank statement...... then later they say it was a normal Capitec branch code and not a Business branch code that was used (really??) - and then tell me to ask the bank to recall it (I thought is was already returned) .... look at the feedback and make up your own mind.
It is now Thursday, and I have no goods and no money and no further feedback - the bank believes that there is little chance of recovering the funds.
Looking at the above and the pics below - will you buy from this company?
Clearly, the stupid person here is me - I just got scammed for R33k - I am beyond pissed off

Hindsight is 20/20 vision 😞
Warning signs: No phone number, no unit number on address, loads of links don't work, some content is in the wrong place, returns include gift vouchers which is not sold, only accept EFT, and if you reverse lookup the pictures, they are all generic/copied from other sites and probably more if you look closer.
I did a reverse google image lookup and found this site with the same pics: Danhofer Solar – your partner for high-quality photovoltaic systems
I have opened a case of Fraud at SAPS as well as the local banks, including their bank which is Capitec.
At this stage I am hoping I am the only chop that got caught by these SCAMMERS and want to make sure no-one else gets caught - this site needs to be shutdown, the money trail followed, and these bastards locked away for good.
Perhaps an idea is for "The Power Forum" to start a page of Solar/Power companies caught out scamming people, Companies with Poor ratings etc, as a service to its members ... just an idea 🙂
