  3. @shovelhead Sorry man been a while since I was on here, I ended up going for Longi 440W. The NTC on the 550w panels is 13.1 A or something witch is over the max amp rating for the inverter MPPT, Even though it should be fine it will cause the inverter to run hotter when clipping accurs. They told me that they have had inverters come in were the MPPT gave issues. So they don't recommend going for 540W panels
  4. Yeah Me Neither. Also after this a product I will never touch nor recommend to anyone. Ive attached some pics of the batteries.
  5. Ive got no idea… Client says the guy that sold him the units aint picking up the phone. Warrenty was suposed to be two years. He is trying to locate someone that can perhaps help him with warrenty. Stil waiting for pics havnt been back yet
  6. I wil try get some pics and upload
  7. Im thinking that aswell that batteries are faulty. But Client took them to fivestar and they charged it to the 3 out of 4 bars charge level. inverter also always Shows battery is at 100%. Gonna try this week to charge them from a axpert inverter and see what they do. Maybe time to get a battery tester aswell.
  8. @Stefan Cornelissen No Seems it migjt be older models than those. Not even any buttons or lcd display on the battery. Only power on button with 4 Green lights to show battery charge level.
  9. Hi all Im struggling a bit with the above mentioned combo. Client bought two five star 7kw?h batteries. It worked fine on an fivestar inverter. The inverter gave endless problems though And we replaced it with a sunsynk 8kw. I cant get the inverter to charge the batteries nor to keep the power on if ac is turned off. no timer settings being used. grid charge ticked. Using AGMv settings. No comms port on battery for bms so have to work on agm settings. anyone that maybe has some advice on what to check next? Kind regards Be4dawn
  10. Ive just put 2 fans at the bottom of the inverter blowing through the fins it helped. Would you say its better to have them on top? Then I assume they have to extract hot air?
  11. So in other words it safe to run at that temp 😮
  12. Hey guys I noticed now on my app that my inverter Dc Temp is running at around 80 Degrees. Is this normal? inverter was running a big load at the time I checked. AC temp was around 66 Degrees but could not hear any fans running? At What temp wil it be to much for the Inverter?
  13. Hi all I came across something interesting the other day when replacing an DC SPD. I proceeded to test and I found 110V AC between positive and earth. Same voltage between negative and earth. Is this normal? If it is does anyone have an explanation of why this would happen? Installation does have earth spike installed and all earths are bonded together. Asked A friend who has another brand inverter installed to test on his side and he got 220v AC between positive and earth. Both Tests were conducted at the DC SPD. When testing pv voltage positive to negative they test correctly as well. Any thoughts?
  14. Aah thanks found it. So I assume when sunsynk oushes the nee firmware that would change aswell?
  15. Planck Sorry still new to sunsynk where dit you find those software numbers?
  16. So if i understand correctly one can install panels with max current thats higher than the max PV Input Current of 13A of the 5.5 kw inverter? The Panels im looking at got a STC amp of 12.97 according to data sheet
  17. Just got off the phone with sunsync. They said the 540W panels Amp per kppt is to close and I should rather install panels with a lower current.
  18. Hi All, what would be the best panels to buy between Longi, canadian solar and JA Solar?
  19. Whats the opinion on Longi panels?
  20. Would you guys recommend i go for Longi 540W? ans should i install 12 or can i start with 10?
  21. Hi All I've got a 5kw Sunsync inverter with a 5.5kw Hubble battery atm to beat load shedding. However I want to install some panels to help cut my bill Aswell. My roof layout makes it almost impossible to get panels facing North so I will have to do a east/west installation. I was thinking to start out to either opt for 5*540W panels facing east and another 5 facing west. I i cant get hold of 540W I might gou for 6*455W east and another 6 west. I do have roof space left to add more panels later on if needed Im on a budget :). Currently there are nothing that would place any shadows onm y roof space either side. My concern however is would the east west installation with this setup make a noticeable difference? Im currently using about 17Kw/h a day. Already purchased a smart timer for geyser to allow pv to heat that up aswell. Any help would be much appreciated to try and get this setup working as good as possible with my situation.
  22. Hey all so I installed an 5kw sunsync last night with a hubble am2. I saw that i have a floting n-e volt of about 110V.Im scared that this might danage alpliances ect. Already popped the surge protection plug. Im gonna install the relay tonight but my question is can i bridge straight to the Earth from the grid or do i definitely need to install an earth spike on the outside?
  23. Yep I will do that tommorow. Would be nice if its bunoed up to 13A.
  24. Yes I wil definitely look at smaller panels. When did they upgrade it to 13A? the specsheet I got only shows 11A.
  25. Did They upgrade it recently? The specsheet im looking at still shows 11A? Would you advise we work on the STC or NMOT Sheet for South African conditions?
