  1. It seems it's popular on the 4x4 forums. They are apparently rebranded felicity batteries, and when contacting them they are quick to assist.
  2. So I have seen some great prices on these brands, but I am not familiar with them. So wondring if anyone had some experience with them. The 2 year warranty also doesn't instill confidence Example: 59K for 20kwh https://leroymerlin.co.za/fivestar-51-2v-400ah-20-4kwh-lithium-battery-lifepo4
  3. Sure. Here are some closeups of the serial numbers as well. I had to drastically reduce the sizes to stick to the 3mb max upload. Here is the packet you circled The busbars that came with the bats, some vids said it is flexible, but wasn't in my case. Bot a big issue as it's free Back of the mainboard Front From the last pic, this points to be the Seplos 10E, it's covered on off grid garage as well, same as this https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004996666071.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2vnm
  4. For those that wanted to know, these are the accessories with the BMS
  5. Unfortunately I couldn't, even though I wanted to. I am going on leave for a week now, and then again the entire December. The gels I have currently doesn't have the best life. Sometimes, my impatience gets the better of me. I will be doing a second battery in the new year. All in all, pickup was done this morning, all went smoothly, as Candice made everything a breeze
  6. So it seems there was a misunderstanding around the 280cells, when I was asked if I want the box, I took it as box of 4 cells, and it was meant as the diy box. The misunderstanding was cleared, and will pickup the cells in the morning. As I unserstand it, the 304 cells will be available again Friday, but due to my holiday schedule I will have to go with the 280s.
  7. It was the cells that were not available, but it seems like I can fetch again. Will update tomorrow if I get the goods.
  8. My experience with Apexium have been bad. So I have been given excuses since I paid on Friday, why I cannot collect. First, they said they need to wait for the money, before they can release, which mind you, paypal to paypal is instant. I was told today is the day, I arranged accordingly to be in the area so that I can collect as soon as I receive the reference, I was eventually told the cells I ordered were sold out by another sales person, and offered the 280 as an alternative. Since I did not want the drive to be for nothing, I agreed on the alternative. This was around 8:30 this morning. 9:40, I was told I short paid, when in actual fact they are trying to upsell me the DIY box now, when I refused, I was told a refund will be done. As the complete boxes are all they have. I am very frustrated, now let's see how long this refund will actually take.
  9. Actually a long time, 1 battery support (bottom part) is 12 hours, it's thick. I will be on holiday from this weekend, so will have these parts get printed whilst I am gone at a printer farm. The quote is R7.5 an hour
  10. My entire house is connected to backup, but I don't have solar, only bats. Works during grid, and switches to bats when grid is off.
  11. So just a small update. Whilst working on a design, and looking for ways to add some compression, as well as rigidness to a 3D print, I stumbled upon 2 already designed projects. The first, is an enclosure for a seplos bms: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5604549 And the second, an entire battery box, enclosure, both available for the lf304 and 280 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5332483 The enclosure seems to be very rugged, since it uses multiple threaded rods to add strength, as well as compression. So I will be using a combo of these 2 designs, combine them, and change them up a bit. The base for the case will be as follows: What I will be adding, is a place for the breaker, mini "ducting" that will take either a single 120mm or 90mm fan, it will route airflow over the bms, and then over the battery terminals, then blow out the back. The design is slim enough so that it can be rack mountable. Any ideas welcome.
  12. Thanks for this. I have received info that the apex 48200, is actually the seplos v2
  13. So just a small update, on the last post I replied to gobel the pricing doesn't fit the SA market well, they have actually gone and lowered it for us, which I think speaks volumes, and I am actually impressed Here is the updated pricing.
  14. So I will be picking up my cells on Wednesday, I also purchased their Apex BMS, which is just a rebranded seplos. I was initially going to buy a steel case and modify it from there, but has since decided to get a 3D printer, draw up some modular designs, and this will now be my project. From the mockups it is going to look good. Will post my build log here.
  15. So I did 2 payments, I had dollars in one of my accounts. The second payment was just via paypal for a straight 1000$. My exchange rate was R19.41, no other fees. So I paid badically 400 in exchange fees. The forex route also has its charges from what I remember, and there are 2 ways to go, depending on hoe patient you are. Buy peoples paypal balance from them from Carbonite, at -10C the rate, you will have the full amount in a week. Alternatively, open a wise account, cost are low, and high intrest rates. This is always my goto and then carbonite (since I am impatient). Open account here: https://wise.com/, you get issues a virtual card immediately, and can order a physical one as well if you prefer. You will have any bank, in any currency.
  16. Take a close look at the cells used for the 2 cheapest ones At those prices, and considering the cell quality, it's much cheaper to just buy a prebuilt bat from Apexium, just my 2c
  17. So my quote as this morning, for 5 units Shipping: 1399, and then you need to pickup at buffalo logistics Price per bat, $2188 BUT, MOQ is 10
  18. I will definitely take some pics. I am not entirely sure what's packaged with the BMS, afaik it's the bluetooth module, screen, en battery wiring. But will confirm either Monday or Wednesday when I pickup. I will also be doing a DIY box myself. The batteries luckily come with busbars
  19. I have bit the bullet, and ordered 16 x LF304 cells with their bms. The diy box just seemed too pricey. I will go with something like this for storage https://www.geewiz.co.za/cabinet-wallbox/97506-12v-steel-battery-cabinet-with-wheels-4x-100ah-quad-batteries.html
  20. For now, I cannot seem to get the apexium cells for under 42K with bms. I have since seen a couple alternatives, like this gobel, Their reply to me was that they do not have local stock, and shipping is charged from the first 500kg. So a group buy of a minimum of 5 units would probably make it reasonable
  21. The idea was that they already had local stock, but it seems not yet.
  22. This is really a great price. A DIY battery doesn't even to be a cheaper alternative compared to this. I have also sent a message, let's see. Great find.
  23. So I am extremely torn about this. Is the DIY box worth the extra 13K? If taken as the entire kit, it's more expensive than the prebuilt svolt battery packs (14K per 5.1kwh). How did most do their diy kits? With or without the box?
  24. I created a PR last night, to support the solis statuses, battery discharge direction, grid down via voltage etc. I will help maintain from the solis side of things
  25. It definitely works, for most sensors, it's just a matter of replacing the prefix "sunsynk" with "solis", the only thing that might need a PR is the inverter status, as I am not sure if they share the same numerical representation for the statuses. I will see if I can do a PR
