Theog17 reacted to paulbuksh in Luxpower SNA 5000 raspberrypi/mqttHi, Quick update.
Halting the pi running Solar Assistant, restores functionality to Luxpower App. Will investigate later, but just wanted to reassure those who may have had concerns.

Theog17 reacted to paulbuksh in Luxpower SNA 5000 raspberrypi/mqttHi, guys.
I have installed luxpower lxpm3600acs in november 2022. Didn't want to fiddle too early till I understood the system.
I have been looking for topics like yours since.
So glad I found you guys.
I have had a look at Solar asistant and I'm very impressed. Considering I worked in electronics at CERN way back, their product is truly amazing.
So I asked if they could support Luxpower, and they have their beta version up and running. I installed it today and now have it all running. Currently just stopped to give them a big thumbs up and let you guys know it is shaping up to be a dela breaker for people buying into solar battery tech.
I'm at the stage of setting up Mqtt for integration into Home Assistant, and if my wife doesnt notice I'm not on the couch watching tv with her ! I'll get it sorted soon.
Hope my experience helps you and their company.
A few details:
Home assistant installed onto a pi4b and takes over the whole pi( cant remeber the name of the install, but not docker etc)
Solar Assistant running on pi4B.
no need to do anything at all with the luxpower etc, its all done via wifi( except my two pi that are on ether for convenience.
Hope this helps

Thats great to hear.
Just be a bit patient they will release updates soon we have all been testing and providing feedback

Theog17 reacted to flamegrilled in Luxpower FirmwareHad to get Luxpower.com to give me an account to do my own thing eventually.

Theog17 reacted to QuintenRowland in Luxpower SNA 5000 raspberrypi/mqttOk so then you will receive the battery SOC via the inverter.
PM me your mobile number then I can share some screenshots of mine.

Theog17 reacted to QuintenRowland in Luxpower SNA 5000 raspberrypi/mqttHi @mzezman
For the lux units it actually does work over the local lan. No need for cables if you happy with the information supplied by the inverter

Sorry I meant I have been using SA for the last 2 years was previously connected to my Victron & Growatt inverter.
I have only recently switched to the luxpower inverter and started the SA monitoring on the beta release.
You leave the comms cable between the inverter and batteries as it is.
The SA device just needs to be connected to the same local network as the inverter data logger.
SA pulls all the values for monitoring through the local network and reads the battery SOC though the inverter.
You have the option to connect a RS232 to USB cable also from the master to SA if you want more information from the battery like each cell voltage and temperature which then still leaves the RS485 open for the comms to the inverter.
If your wireless is intermitted between lux dongle and SA you will experience some connectivity issues but all power functions will still be fine and controlled between inverter and bms.
One of the benefits I love about SA is that the update time of data is almost instant instead of the usual delay of all the other options available.

Theog17 got a reaction from jfg in Luxpower SNA5000WPV inverter - is battery communication cable necessary?I was wondering about that, in some places the wires are swapped and other not, now that make sense. After multiple firmware updates and a different cable, it seem to be working now.
Almost through load-shed and its taking load for a change without tripping, so I'm hoping thats the end of my issues .

Hi Theo. I found out the Luxpower PIN configuration changed recently, so likely the LAN cable supplied with the Dyness battery and marked for Luxpower is probably incorrect / outdated. The LAN cable should be a strait pin to pin configuration. I did the installation for my Skoonma - haven't been back to see if that will resolve the issue, but I believe it should.
Please let me know if you've tried this and/if you found another solution.

Theog17 reacted to FragtioN in Luxpower FirmwareSimilar problem here. I'm on cbaa-121613. Is this the latest? How can we upgrade, without bringing the installer into the equation? I bought this equipment so should be able to do this myself... 🤔?

Theog17 reacted to mzezman in Luxpower sna5000 eps trips during loadsheddingAre your batteries communicating properly with the inverter? the fact that it doesnt happen when on Lead Acid points to a incorrectly configured cCAN cable / CAN setup

Theog17 got a reaction from mzezman in Luxpower 5kw hybrid inverters questionLooks like that did the trick. Gave it some load and so far so good .... .
Why the local supplier did not suggest a firmware update is beyond me.
Edit: I tried to update the firmware a while back but couldn't probably because I don't have admin rights on my account.

Theog17 got a reaction from mzezman in Luxpower 5kw hybrid inverters questionLux-Power is busy updating my firmware remotely, lets see if that resolve the issue. Will let you know.

Theog17 got a reaction from mzezman in Luxpower 5kw hybrid inverters questionI cant check at the moment because we are load-shedded right now . But normally it say 112.5A both charge & discharge, depending on what the SOC is, the charge allowed decrease as the batteries get "fuller".
