  2. Well said. Saw a R2m solar installation explosion. No COC. Not done by an electrician but a PV greencard installers. Everybody think thy can do a DIY. Case
  3. You get different type of lithium. LIfepo is safe no burning componet apprently. Other lithiums give off dangerous chemicals if in contact with fire. If im correct also an issue to extinguish a fire on it.but still nobody can direct us to legislation in this regard. In COC courses they state No Batteries in a house but i need to see this in a SANS. I will try and find a post on this issue
  4. Hi tx. My husband is a master electrician. MIE. and can build it. However due to compliance and insurance risks he refuses to do trolleys.
  5. Sorry. Im missing it. Im looking for SANS regulations to say its ok i need proof not advice that building regulation will allow it. Many pv courses specifically state not to install in a house. Ensure fire wall protection. Im looking legislation. Will insurabce company pay oyt uf there is a fire. Im believe insurance conpanies are currently working on this due to many fly by nights
  6. We ve looked at all options. And yes lithium is the e way to go BUT for safety purposes we will never install such system in a house always in a garage setup. In this old age home theres no garage. We ve been researching legislation and cant find any SANS on where a battery should be installed. Had a look at SANS for building regulations 10400, but cant find a rule on this referring to batteries So does this mean that people in flats old age homes who need power have to be the ones that suffer during load shedding. HELP HELP pls
  7. Looks like avg price is R7500 for 1 , or am i wrong.
  8. Pls help with more detail on this batteries. I dont know them. Maybe reliable brand
  9. Hi. In 2018. We had a small inverter and 4 fel batteries as a back up system (i can not stand the sound of a generator). We replaced the gell batteries with lithium when we went full solar. So then we latterly gave away these batteries to people with no power at a small holding. My husband installed solar panels for them in 2020., and ever since they all full on those gell batteries not having any power issues. These batteries are going for their 5 year
  10. Hi. Lithium might be a safer option
  11. Its not worthwhile for an old age flat to use lithium They are suffering the most during load sheddung. Management of old age homes do not invest currently in solutions. My mom is on an oxy machine. And the old age home do not allow solar. So this is then the best route to go
  12. Hi , looking for good gel batterie brand - 200h any suggestions pls (:) ) this is for back-up system during load shedding. For a small system
  13. We have a growat and Narada battery with 4.6kw panels. I do washing during the day. Tumble dryer and dishwasher during loadshedding. Without any problems
  14. Ensure proper COC and test reports attached to COC. Also make sure proper lightning protection. Some installers take short cuts. Not enough lightning protection or correct earthing. Depending on hoe big is your system. They will most properly hve to split your board. Make sure it's an installation electrician that works on your board with correct qualification. Too many installers are not qualified I E electricians.
  15. I totally agree on the COC issue. My husband is A MIE master electrician and very clued up with the regulations. Not one of the solar inspections he recently did was compliant and safe as per safety standards . I have pictures. COC being issued left right and center without proper test reports. No proper lightning protection. Ac and DC wires mixed. And then it's big solar companies. I see disaster coming and many people is going to loose money. In a MIE meeting my husband attended. They mentioned 3house burnt down due to incorrect installations. DOL is not doing what they suppose to do. We have reported all the fraulent COC 's to DOL and ECA. and nothing happened to the installers. In 1 case the AiA was called for inspection. 180 pages of faults reported to DOL nothing happened client spend R300 000 in legal fees nothing happened. The industry is in shambles everything goes
  16. Cameras are 52v and there are a few security lights.
  17. Magneto good. We received excellent service from them. Installed a few
  18. Got a surprise the other day. Previously sunsylk issued a magneto data logger with their inverters (looks like it) . We could not understand why we can not find the client on the sunsylk app. Then saw they gave us a magneto data logger that can only work on solarman. I also ordered an add data logger 6mnths ago. When we wanted to replace the magneto data logger that was issued 2yrs ago with the installation we found out they gave us again a magneto data logger. Still gotto contact the supplier. I want to know how could they sell a magneto data logger to us if the order stupilated a sunsylk dongle. Anyone else with the same problem?
  19. Hi. Anyone that can advice on cheap name brand inverter and battery. This is only to power cameras during load shedding and owner don't want to pay too much.
  20. Madek replied to Mo1989's topic in Inverters
Hi. I've seen many such complaints about DYE inverters that people think they on solar during the day but actually not. Is this a DYE problem. I have not seen these type of questions on Sunsynk inverters. Is my assumption correct. Also not only on this forum but some other people in our area complaining about the same thing..
  21. Yeap. Hopefully they will let me know tomorrow... It's weekend. Even Magneto inverters are out of stock
  22. Jip. Also checked Segen only arriving in Sept. A week ago they said Aug . But who are prepared to pay so much money upfront and stock only available in sept.looking mostly for 5kw and 8kw. Don't really want to go to other type of inverters. Prefer sunsynk
  23. HI. Is this at Segen your referring to
  24. Hi all. Who has stock. Seems like Sunsylk inverters are everywhere out of stock. Pls help!!!!!
