Water filtering
We use borehole water in JNB. Had it test, had a couple of Coliform colonies so to be sure use a 5micron sedimet, GAC carbon Block and then finally a RIO2000 ceramic filter- use the water throughout the house- I prefer mechanical to electric so UV was out what with the need to replace the bulb annually etc. The biggest issue with ground water for washing is staining from metals etc. may need to filter for that.

Solar PV Installation Guidelines -PVGreenCard
Hi, I see that SAPVIA have launched an installation accreditation programme called PVGreenCard together with installation guidelines on their website. Im not sure if I am allowed to upload the doc as a resource but it does give decent overall information and seems to be the current install guidance to be read together with 10142-3 when it becomes applicable. I am putting the site here as reference but please can Energy advise if I must remove the link? https://www.pvgreencard.co.za/Solar PV Guidelines - Digital Spread High-res.pdf

Parallel 5MKS and 5KS - any reason not to?
Hi All, I have a 48V 5MKS that sometimes gets overdrawn into the beep zone. Was thinking of paralleling another unit and see the 5ks on special for R5670. Besides the missing MPPT - any reason not to parallel an MKS and a KS unit? thanks

Panel Earthing
I have an astrophobe unit which automatically disconnect my ADSL line when a storm approaches. Perhaps someone with more ability than I, could use the switching or sensing mechanism to create an automatic disconnect for PV systems?

Panel Earthing
Locally supply on the range is +-R2k to R8k depending on model and then one can array them too for larger installs. I see you can also get used options on ebay.

Panel Earthing
Morning All - this is my first post although I have been lurking anonymously for a while. I was wondering if anyone had considered the use of something more industrially suited like the Raycap Strikesorb range of arrestors. I have seen them used internationally on PV and we use them on a number of local industrial/commercial sites.
