Test tomorrow and let us know, cause everything after 3pm for me is way less, due to the sun angle.
Switch on your Oven, kettle and microwave tomorrow, 2kw + 1.8kW + 1.2kW, at 12pm and check what the solar gives.
 
There is a setting in the inverter by default, called auto balance, so yes it just draws what it needs.

You can capture the inverter details on the sunsynk website and they will apply the warranty for you

Yes, if your batteries are fully charged the system will only pull from your PV whatever it needs to keep your house load. 

Apologies, I just tested the stove (which is connected to the inverter) which draws 2.4kwh, then the solar input jumped to a little over 2000watt, so I guess it only draws what is required from the panels.

Don't ignore the Kodak OG 7.2 that can blend grid with PV to power the load. Better option than say 2 x 5kw Growatts if a single does not make it.

Hi @Theo27 if you also have a Gas stove with tubes for hot water and you don't plan on buying aircons then i can't think of any heavy loads that you might want to put on the non essential side. In that case the growatt is fine.
 
if you can think of any heavy loads to put on the non essential side or even feeding back to tge grid which is available in the western cape. Then the extra R10k is definitely worth it. Also helps with CUD, FOMO and other abbreviations. You can also overload/bypass the deye by a lot. Whereas with the growatt you must plan to stick within the 5kw limit. If heaters and hairdryers are going to be used then the extra R10k on the deye is worth it.
What others have done is paralleled 2 growatts to get around the peak load limits.
