  1. thanks! i'll check this much appreciated
  2. Thanks, weird thing is the CT coil was not changed/moved (that I know of) during the upgrade but I should probably have it checked
  3. Hi guys We recently added another Deye 8kW inverter to our existing Deye 8kW system and some additional solar panels After the work the latest company did, when I monitor using solar-assistant, the Grid used and Grid exported is swapped? Please see, e.g. on Nov 15 we used 4.6 and exported 10.3...: What can be done/checked to fix this please? Many thanks Ant
  4. Hi I've got 4 x of these?: Dyness 5.12KW Lithium Battery BX51100 Much appreciated!
  5. Many thanks @JayMardern, hope this looks OK (please see attachment)? And yup when we have load shedding or if I flip the main grid breaker the pool circuit has no current Question please: suppose A=essential load and B=non-essential load, if A+B > 8kW, will our inverter trip or only when A > 8kW? Thanks Ant
  6. Hi guys, hope you can help me make sense of something please Apologies in advance if below writing is hard to read, just trying to state some facts - we have a Deye 8kW inverter - up to now our whole house was connected on load side (UPS?) - our swimming pool circuit at times contributes to about 6kW load (2 x 1.1kW pumps, heat pump, salt water chlorinator, etc.) - I decided that above pool circuit needs to be moved off the inverter and back on the grid as non-essential load - I wired a separate DB board with the pool circuit on and fed it from the grid - these grid wires also feed the Deye inverter BUT the pool load still shows as a load from the house on the inverter? Did I do above correctly? Is it a setting i missed? Could it be because of the CT coil? Many thanks for your advice much appreciated Thanks Ant
  7. Hi we had a buzzer wired directly to Eskom which we manually switched on when starting our gennie and when load shedding was over it alerted us, we then switched off the buzzer when turning off the gennie I see you get change over switches with all this built in using a relay...
  8. Ho guys, the way I "attached" it to my inverter was to print these 2 brackets and glue them to the fan enclosure (using my wife's nail glue haha) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6058451 Then on top of these 2 brackets I just put a scuba diving weight, it creates a cradle of sorts to put the weight, then this just sits on top of the inverter... Please don't judge my rudementary 3D design skills too harshly lol, I'm very noob at this (apologies don't have photo will try get one) Cheers Ant
  9. Thanks all and thanks Scorp007 I'll relay the info much appreciated!
  10. Hi all just to report back, all my issues seem to be sorted now and was as a result of a loose connection on the busbar between batteries and inverter! eish! We now double checked all connections and added new washers on both sides of the lugs to hopefully prevent this (I think they're called serrated star washers) My installer will have a stern talk to he's team, we're all human after all and mistakes happen, I'm just grateful this didn't cause a fire or damaged our equipment (it seems) Thanks Ant
  11. Do you know if one can book a repair slot with Deye? Do they have a local repair shop or does the inverter need to be shipped?
  12. Hello we have 4 x 5kWh Dyness batteries I checked all looks good but my installer will be coming to our house today to check as well, will revert with he's findings I checked continuity on the fuses between the inverter and batteries and they seem good The issue arises randomly in or out of LS
  13. Hi guys Our 9 month old Deye inverter is struggling at times, it fails with error stating it can't see the batteries My installer/supplier informed me that there's a 2 month waiting list for repairs We can't afford to purchase a replacement and pair them at a later stage once this one is fixed The issue is intermittent Do you guys know if there's a way one can book a slot to have this inverter repaired? It seems counter intuitive for us to go without solar for 2 months while the inverter lies around waiting to be repaired Much appreciated Thanks Ant
  14. Perfect get it thanks for the info! (we run all from essential load so need bigger gennie if I want to go this route, we sold ours because it was just standing LOL)
  15. Hi guys, can I top up our batteries (20kWh) through our 8kW Deye inverter using a small e.g. 1 or 2 kW generator? Will the inverter take what it can get or will it potentially draw too much from the gennie and kill it? I'm thinking of getting a cheap small gennie just to top off our batteries in the very rare event we struggle to get our batteries fully charged (load shedding and bad weather combined) Thanks Ant
  16. Thanks much appreciated!
  17. Great idea thanks, which PC fans did you use, perhaps have a link/suggestion where I can buy them please?
  18. Thanks for all the info @PsyWulf I'll check it out Forgot to add our pool is 80k litres, not sure the emersion heaters will be effective unless I put in a couple of them?
  19. Hi guys I'm looking for the cheapest possible DIY way to heat our pool with our excess solar, 5kW or more at times during the day This is until we can afford a heat pump later Any suggestions please? Thanks Ant
  20. WOW very well done you have a dream setup there! Very neat work, following with great interest
  21. Just loving solar, our electricity bill for the month was a whopping R19.30 (we also went semi off-grid with water, using municipal water for geysers and borehole water for the rest)
  22. WOW serious setup you have there! Super nice well done you must be loving it
