  1. HI @slipx and all, Not sure if I'm lazy, crazy or simply too noob. Any idea why I would get undefined kWh on solar panels, when the flow card and others seem to be fine? Really thought I had almost figured out my Deye / Solarman entities.
  2. We will be having a DEYE 5kw and one Volta installed at our guardhouse next week. Non solar install but will see how it goes.
  3. Ditto for Solar Assistant, have been happily using since just after my system was installed last October. Also run a Deye inverter, but with REVOV batteries.
  4. Ditto slipx if you would be so kind.
  5. Struggling to make sense of the various pieces on the other forum, but above is a piece of the Paradox Olarm integration that I have managed to cover. There is a slight delay given the polling time on the Rest API. Still a lot to figure out and then to see how it can be used with Alarmo and my Aqara Sensors to create a double alarm.
  6. I believe the API is in BETA. I’m not making much progress myself, but did find the link below and am trying to get it running. https://community.home-assistant.io/t/olarm-integration/384560/30 I managed to get the API logging a call with there support, and using curl or the https link, I can see all available data in JSON, but stuck at that point. Will add more later.
  7. Perfect on the above. Many thanks. Now I turn my eyes to Olarm integration via their API.
  8. Hi Mzezman, I have my HA running with some nice dashboard bits. Solar Assistant works fine, but I cannot seem to get MQTT working with it to pull SA into HA. I guess I need to restart With a fresh MQTT install on my HA and then recheck all the SA instructions.
  9. I bought an old 2nd hand HP ProDesk SFF PC at the beginning of lockdown to drive a few monitors. At some point my Raspberry Pi SD got trashed once to often and I started looking to run HA as a Virtual Machine on VirtualBox. For me this has worked really well, as it is reasonably simple to make a backup of the whole system once in a while. Had a good UPS behind the PC before I went Solar so I had time to shutdown if load shedding went on to long. https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/windows/ The more you read and follow the experts here, the deeper the rabbit hole. Good luck!
  10. Thanks, will watch those and see if I can get some of your results. one I really liked was the time left on battery at current consumption..
  11. Hi mzezman, I really like some of your dashboard work.. Do you give lessons?
  12. HI Jason, Even as more of a lurker who is very new to this the forum is greatly appreciated.
  13. So the full installation was completed on Thursday afternoon from a Wednesday morning start. So far I am only getting an initial feel for the system with the Solarman App, but as a start that is interesting. Will start to work on the Home Assistant side in the coming days. All in all very happy with the installation and initial impressions are good.
  14. Evening all, I have been looking at Solar for far to long and kept putting it off. The last batch of Stage 6 last weekend was the last straw. Having been watching, I figured that I could do most of what I need with a system as below; 8KW hybrid inverter 2 x 5kw batteries 12 to 16 450w panels. From this I started looking at quotes from what I understood were good installers in the Pretoria / JHB area that will install in Pretoria East. I ended with 3 quotes from which I picked a company that was highly recommended by a work colleague that used them as well and also had a solid costing within my budget range. Final items are: Deye 8 kw Inverter Revov R100 2nd Life 5.12kw battery x 2 (or Shoto?) 455w panels x 16, tier1 Mono solar panels (verbally eIther Canadian or JA Solar.) all relevant connectors, COC and Insurance certificate I am happy with the above decided to proceed. I have installation starting next Monday so very keen to see how this goes. Just one small query/concern, the company is talking about using Haitai Panels instead of the JA or Canadian. From what I can Google, they Lao seem to be tier1, but are they equivalent to JA or Canadian. If not similar, I need to push back to one of those I think? Looking forward to this being installed and future Comms on the forums, am an Home Assistant wannabe, so will see how that side goes Also, thanks to those I have stalked over time to get to this point.
