DaveAWalker reacted to system32 in Loadshedding / Eskom API Integration !!I think polling every 5 sec when down is too aggressive for a public service.
I take a sample once every 60 minutes and use the previous value if I get an error.

DaveAWalker reacted to Mamod1 in Loadshedding / Eskom API Integration !!@WannabeSolarSparky yes I noticed earlier today to was working but now it is broken again, guess it's best to perhaps poll the endpoint like you said then store the information until the next successful poll happens (when successful then I'll update with most recent schedule)

DaveAWalker reacted to beyarkay in Loadshedding / Eskom API Integration !!Hey Dave, I'm guessing you're the same Dave who opened the issue on GitHub with the same problem. Just piping in here to say that it's all fixed 👍

DaveAWalker got a reaction from mzezman in Semi new to solarI have installed my SNA5000 Luxpower with a PylontechUS3000C and 2 extra 425W CS panels .
So far everything is working well. I have limited my load and only run essentials on it especially as LS6 hit pretty soon after setting up.
Battery arrived at 50% and since then the lowest its been is 66% I think.
Thanks all for advice

DaveAWalker reacted to jumper in Possible Dyness battery failure? If you've turned off the grid and the inverter stays on then it must be getting some power from the battery or it would just turn itself off. I am wondering if it might be a problem with the inverter as it is reading 0V. Are you able to check it there is indeed 0V on the battery terminals with a multimeter?
Hopefully @Dynesscan help you out here as they will know a lot more than me about your battery. Good luck.

DaveAWalker reacted to Pren in Using Pylontech US3000 batteries efficientlyToo many acronyms for a noobie....
Going to reset the SoC limit to 50% before going to grid today... that should balance using the batteries more efficiently, allowing some leeway if there is power outage, and preserving the battery life!

DaveAWalker reacted to Youda in Using Pylontech US3000 batteries efficientlyPersonally, I'm cycling my US3000 stack between 100% SoC and 40%SoC. Once discharged to 40% SoC, my system automatically switches to the grid. Since manufacturer's specs allow cycling between 100% and 10%, I have a lot of margin here.
BTW:
Technically, it would be better to cycle these between 40% SoC and 90% SoC daily, while allowing a full charge (100%SoC) only once a week, to let BMS reset amphours counter and balance the cells. But as far as I know, no inverter on the market has ability to set such a complex rule.

DaveAWalker reacted to RetiredDIY in My Luxpower 5kw hybrid inverter installSince this chain is relevant, I have decided to share my experience:
I have 6 x 410watt Canadians giving 2.4 Kw to a LuxPower 5Kw. Battery is a 3.6Kva LSB.
Running 18000btu aircon, 0.75Kw pool pump, 400 watt basic stuff and when fridge is OFF then at night we run at 200watt.
The geyser was a previous project and runs on a water heater sun collector.
You can read about my disaster on another forum, this is the result.
The LuxPower is amazing. Has blend capabilities second to none.
My first full month of use has changed my metered use from 1137 KWH to 730 KWH, a bit disappointing. ( a lot of cloudy days - maybe it will get better. )
If this is the rate of ROI then the total installation cost of 64K is going to take 55 months ( at current electrical rates )
It remains to be seen how long the LuxPower will last.
Is this worth it?
Considering that I work from home and make my money using computer systems - I think yes.
Final thought. This is NOT something to tackle without research and assistance. If you have doubts, get a reputable company ( a very scarce item ) and BEWARE scamsters. This space is absolutely soaked with chancers.
