  1. Hi, Invertor is for sale. I've installed a Victron Multiplus. Model is RCT-Axpert 3K 24v It has 600w Solar. Never use the Solar Side. Used from Day of Purchas to September 2020 as a UPS. From September ive connect a Victrom MPPT to it. I also had to change the DB to DIN, as it was a mixture of din and Samites. Ive add all the samite breakers in the mix. 3x 10a 4x 20a 1x 32a 1x35a 1xSurge Arrestor 1x10a double pole. All inside a DB Price for all R5000. Im based in Strand, Western Cape.
  2. Thats what he told me. But i think my problem was more in the line of using different rails. I was using din and Samite in the same db board. And the din to samite adapter was "not so leka". It kept falling out. The switchover, earth and main is din, and the rest is samite (CBI and Lair.) So i dont think its a matter of mixing brand names, its more in the line of using different standards. Dit kom nou as jy lap en las!!
  3. Hi, I want to know what a good market related price would be for the following: 1x RCT 3000VA 24V Invertor. Solar 600W input. Never use the Solar Input. Unit was 95% ot the time as a UPS. Only since September 2020, ive used the units Daily in my Solar Setup. I was using a Victron Mppt to charge the batteries. Never really push it higher than 50%. As it was use for the TV, 2x PC's and lights. Unit was brought in June 2015. Im selling the unit as im upgrading to a Victron Multiplus. I also have the following that i want to sell: Lear - 2x 10A Breaker. 1x 20A Breaker. CBI - 2x 20a Breaker and x1 10A Breaker, Surge Arrestor ACDC 14way DB Reason for sale: To get a COC, the Plugs in the DB needs to be the same. Have DIN and Sammite installed. Sparky advice to go for DIN. The DB was installed in September this year. Price R500. Based in Strand.
  4. Thank you @Louisvdw. So this means, A- get a charger that can handle 70a, or B- get 2x BMS amd split the battery in 2. Ive heard the Daly BMS is quite good. Is there anybody in South Africa that sells the 3.7v version.
  5. Hi Guys, Im busy with my project, and by the looks of it, i will have enough Cells to make a battery. 20a Cells. Max current 2A. My questions is Choosing the BMS. Im looking at the BMS from Lithium SA. https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/collections/bms/products/100a-ant-smart-bms-with-bluetooth-and-lcd?variant=35449073434791 It can do 50A charge current. My solar charger is a Victeon 250/70. My question is this. 1. Do i have to set the MPPT to 50A max charging(give or take 6a extra for base load of house) or can i keep it at 70A. Or 2. Does the BMS only take 50A charge and let the rest to wast. And final 3. Will it blow if i give to more than 50A charge? Atm, i have 4x 390w JA panels. I have a 24v system. Currently with 4x12v 100a agm. MPPT set to 46a max charging current. Batteries max charging limit is 20a. Looking forward to some great answers.
  6. thanks @JustinSchoeman, Of all the research ive done, almost all point to the fact that these LIPO sells are safer than 18650. Due to the fact that they have "protection Circuit" and dont use a liquid electrolyte. Lipo use a gel base electrolyte. Not sure how it measure in real life, as i never really came across 18650 that caught fire/explode. But then again, no one really talk about the bad experience they had with home made projects! I know that a lot of DIY power walls are build with 18650 cells. Hence I'm coming here to find out if this build is possible, the pro and cons. and ideas to make it safer. or did anybody attempt this before.
  7. thanks @JustinSchoeman In not 2 familiar with these sells aswell. Im under the impression that they are the same as 18650 cells, only the shape and capacity differs. - But i might be completely wrong. 18650 is like "hoender tande" Ive read somewhere, not sure where, that if you stick within the C rating, it is a very stable. Hence fuses on all the cells. But, im here to learn. a Man dont know what he dont know.
  8. thanks. 45 per us2000 - they have 15s, so yes, you are right, 3p15s. wonder what is the largest AH cells you can do with these ANT BMS's. if all goes well, i will have 40P, so that will be about a 800a 3.7V cell. Or is it better to split them into 2 groups?
  9. HI All, So, Before is start testing and arranging cells, I have a question. I have the possibility of getting a lot of these cells: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/32951551702.html The one in the link is the 10a. The ones i can get is 20a, 2x10A spotweld with a positive and negative (black and red) cable. (no BMS) The specs are as followed: 20a, 0.2c charge/discharge, 3.7v Some of them is very new, others not so new, hence the testing and sorting. I can get about 300 of these cells. more or less... So the plan is, if all goes good, and the cells are working, to have a 7s40p (40P for if some cells is bad) setup. Each cell will be fused with a 5A fuse. BMS to be used: https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za/collections/bms/products/100a-ant-smart-bms-with-bluetooth-and-lcd?variant=35449073434791 as it can do 3.7V Cells. I Currently have an Axpert RCT 3000kva 2.4KW, 24V with a Victron 702 BMV Ive done the (excell) math's and this is what i get: Based on 2400w, 100A draw, 24v Battery: Load per cell: 0.35A Series string the load will be 2.5A (40 Series in Parralell) Based on this, the A draw will be way with in Specs. (20a 0.2C = 4a) SO... Before I start the journey, does anybody have any experience with there type of cells, and is it possible to build a powerwall with it?
  10. Please close this thread. I found what i was looking for.
  11. I will take it. Send you direct message.
  12. My charger and panels arrived today. Looks like a busy weekend ahead. Thanks powerforum store for the awesome service and great prices. Communication was fast and spot on. Thanks
