  1. Hi, The hum that you hear is quite normal. Because the Victron is a low frequency inverter, it will generate a hum. (Similar to the Hum you would hear at free standing transformers in your neighbourhood. Mine is doing exactly the same. I call it, the Sound of Power!
  2. Ive been running my Victron setup for close to a year. Its only the 3kva. It only produced 2.4kw I had a voltronics rebrand before that. The voltronics could not run the wife hair dryer nor the poolpump or AC from that. The unit would trip. The victron handles that like a champ! Im in Cape Town, and the support is excellent! If i would need support, victron can log into my setup and fix an issue if its software related. I did had a issue with one of the units where it develop a ground relay issue. Within 3 days i had a brand new unit. Support in my opinion is excelent. Yes, they cost more. Im not denying that. But on a R250k quote, what is R20k extra for superior quality. What I found with the victron installs as that the customer are paying less in the longrun regards supports and callout fees. Agree, the sunsynk are an all in one unit. They are great looking units. But if something breaks. Ie, solar is not specs correct and the mppt blows, then the whole unit needs to be removed. Ive heard so many guys with victron units that had the same setup for 10 15 years. Ive also saved so much money with the victron. Im running it is ess mode. For 2022 my total electricity will was a 17/83 split bewteen eskom and solar. 17 eskom 83 solar. That from a 2.4kw setup. We are 4 adults and 2 kids. Again, yes, victron is more expensive if you compare it like for like. But if you look at the total price of the installation, then it makes sense. Remember, to install a 8kw inverter requires alot of batteries to keep within the specs of the batteries. Disclaimer, im no installer or working for victron. Just a user who enjoys the sun!
  3. Hi, I have a brand new Victron Multiplus2 3000VA for sale. Never been used. I'm selling because it's a replacement unit. 4. As stated above, 100a AGM is very low for a big setup like yours. Personally, learned from experience, the best discharge/charge rate for a 12v AGM is about 20 to maby 30 amps. In a 48v setup that means its about 1.4kw of draw max. Taking dc to ac losses in consideration, it will be about closer to 1.1kw load. That, with the floating bug, im afraid your batteries did come to the end of their life.
  5. Hi, i use to run a victron mppt with my axpert inverter. Setup looked like this. Et112 at DB, that Connect to the Venus OS on raspberry Pi. Victron mppt also connect to Venus OS. Set Axpert to SBU. And set the voltage on the axpert as needed. The Axpert will then swith between eskom and batteries based on the Voltage settings. Remember to set the battery voltages also on the MPPT. Just rember that the Axpert is not that accurate when it comes to Voltage. (At least it was in my case like that)

  10. Hi, Can some please help me with the following. Ive installed an Victron MultiplusII 3000va. With an smartsolar 250/70, and Raspberry Venus. every thing is the firmware is u to date. Ive been useing it for 2 weeks, with ESS. works like a charm. Today we had a poweroutage for about 30 minutes. After the grid came on agian, the Multiplus dont want to switch back to grid. It would do the test with the relays(click click sound), then it would trip. The "bulk" and "Inverter on" would flash one after the other, bulk, invertor, bulk invertor, And the float light will stay on. The Unit works 100% on invertor only, but dont want to switch to grid. The error i get in Notifications is: #11 Grid Relay test Fault. If i open the error i get this: Phase L1, device 1 (0) #29 0x800305 Ive tried with load, no load, disconnect AC1. But with no luck. Can anybody maby share more light on this on how to solve this.
