SunSynk 5kW, 8kW and 12kW latest firmware version
Halo everybody. Can a sunsink/deye clone be upgraded with any of the sunsynk/ deye software? Say for instance I have an 8kw Deye Clone and I want to pair it with an 8kw sunsynk inverter can I upgrade both inverters using the same software/firmware to wotk in parralel?

Looking for a compatible inverter
Good Day power forum folks. I have an 8kw inverter, I always thought it was a DEYE but now I am not so sure. I want to purchase another inverter to add in parallel. the 8KW works amazingly well but I have noticed that sometimes during the day we draw maximum power from the inverter. I don't like running it at max power and therefore want to add another in order to reduce the load and ensure longevity. I have attached pictures of my unit , it is a rebranded product. We bought the house with it installed. the company that sells them is in PE but they apparently only supply to farms and they are not interested in helping me. I also attached pictures of the label as well as the HMI and main version software that is loaded on it. HMI Ver339 Main Ver3870 There is a person who wants to sell their DEYE 8KW because they are upgrading but there software and Main version looks completely different to mine. (Picture attached) HMI Ver 0000-C35A Main Ver 0-6012-1724 My question is this, are these 2 inverters compatible? obviously one or both of them the firmware will need to be updated to do this. Please help me with this. If they are not compatible please tell me which inverter will be compatible. I don't want to go and replace the inverter if it is not necessary. I know the cabling is a mess currently. I am busy prepping for the 2nd invertor

LBSA and Hubble.
Hi There Nive, I am in communication with Mohammed here in Cape Town. My new pack is currently with them, dropped it of Friday for proper inspection and repair, The pack showed that it is at 8% with 50.13v Remaining while my old pack shows 55% at the same voltage. I also asked him to get me a quote to install the smart BMS into the old pack. He said he will speak to the JHB office on Monday to confirm this and what the cost will be. I did ask him if my cells can be transferred to a new cell box and he said that the old cells are bigger and will not fit in the new box.

LBSA and Hubble.
Hi there. I got hold of LBSA and we have been communicating. The New pack has a problem where the SOC drops away to fast. the voltage shows 50V but the SOC shows 8%. I had to send a lot of pictures of it fully charged and under load. I will drop it off at their shop in cape town in order for them to check. The old pack cant be converted to the new style because the cells are bigger and wont fit in the new cabinet. I still need to hear from them if the cant add a smart BMS to the old pack. The Hubble batteries only run n max 52,6v where the LBSA run on 56.2v and as mentioned above uses different technologies. I will wait until the LBSA is back then sell the Hubble batteries add the difference and get another and then save for another until I have 4.

LBSA and Hubble.
Hi there all. 2 years ago we bough a house that had a 8kw DEYE inverter and 2 Hubble AM2 batteries. I also own a 5kw Kodak inverter and 2 LBSA batteries. I know the 2 batteries uses different technologies and charge at different rates and voltages so I cant just hook them all up together. The LBSA batteries are no1 5 years old and no2 around 3 years . LBSA changed their design between the 1st battery (the long black box) to a new version (more square with a digital display). Since new the 2 batteries of LBSA shows the same voltage but different SOC, I have emailed them and they say it is because they use different BMS controllers. The New battery can be connected via canbus to the inverter but the old batteries cant. They changed the design again about a year ago and the packs now look different again but the BMS is apparently the same as the new one I have. So here is my question if this was yours, will you sell the 2 LBSA batteries and purchase 2 new Hubble AM2 batteries, Or do I send the old battery in and pay R4k to have the cells overpack into a new box with a smart bms. The LBSA batteries worked very well on my kodak and I never bothered to worry about the SOC because I have set it up to cut off at 50v, but I have now realised that the new pack shows 0% at 50V while the old pack shows around 50% at 50v. I want to add more batteries because currently my night time draw is around 750 to 1kw without us using any heavy appliances. so the 10kw backup power does not last the full night because I only draw the batteries to 50v for in case we have a loss of eskom. my thinking is to purchase 2 more batteries of either make to ensure I have 20kw of the same brand, But Which brand. I know the Hubble is around R16k and the LBSA is around R25k

Hubble AM2 parallel with Lithium Batteries SA
Good Morning. Thank you all for your insights. The house we are buying also has a flatlet that is also running of the 8kw inverter. I will remove the flat from the 8kw inverter and use the 5kw with the lithium batteries for the flat, swimming pool and and borehole pump. The flat will be used as an air B&B to bring in extra income. Other option is to use the 5kw to run the 2 geysers ?? The extra panels will still go to the sunsynk because this will help with the offset of the electricity that we use from EKSDOM I was hoping for a quick and easy way but its seems not.

Hubble AM2 parallel with Lithium Batteries SA
Hi there. I bought a house with a 8kw Sunsynk inverter and 2 Hubble AM2 batteries and 4kw of solar installed we will be moving somewhere end of May or June I have a 5kw inverter and 2 Lithium Battery SA batteries and 3kw of solar panels that I bought and will be moving with me to the new house, it is currently not permanently installed on the rental property, I use it as a very big UPS with extension cords all over the house I want to connect the 4 Batteries in Parallel to increase my battery capacity. I will also add my 3kw panels to the install. I want to know does anybody know how many cells is in a Hubble AM2 battery?? I Know the Lithium Battery SA has 16 cells. I know the BMS comms will not work correctly therefore I just want to connect all 4 of them to a bus bar. I have 2 Lithium battery SA batteries the one is the old type with the simple display and the second I bought in December and it has the smart BMS and smart display that you can connect to the inverter. It is however not connected because my KODAK inverter cant communicate with it. The old battery also did not have comms and the 2 work 100% together. I do however see a difference in the SOC parameters on the 2 displays and there are definitely a difference in the current that is drawn and charged on the 2 batteries. Both of them will charge to 100% around 11-12 during normal sunny days even though If the app say the charging rate is 15A for instance the new battery will be charging at 6 amp and the old battery at 8 amps. When they discharge the new battery will be the one that gives out more amps during discharge and will show a lower SOC than the old battery. The voltages read exactly the same on both displays. I know that if I try to sell these batteries to buy more AM2 batteries I will not be getting close to what I paid for it. Therefore I want to keep using them. Please give me your thoughts.

Adding new batteries to existing bank of batteries
Hi there, No such thing as a dumb question, I had to do exactly the same 2 years ago. had 8 Narada 220AH batteries that was donated to me from another persons house they did not last 2 hours. I then Bought 1 x lithium battery from Lithium batteries SA, the Battery I bought was the 1st version that does not have any comms to the inverter it only has a big trip switch and a voltmeter. I cuurently get between 6-8 hours I have been running it for 2 years and saved about the same price I paid for it in the 2 years, I save average R850pm I am planning to add another Battery and more panels this year if God supplies me with the finances for that, I already got confirmation from Lithium Batteries SA that I can add the newer battery with Comms to my system without any problems.

Automatic Transfer Switch Advice please
I have just last week build a circuit that you can use for battery protection. You need to add a starter relay that can carry 100A. Search for TL431 Circuits on google. I could not believe how easy it is to build. All the parts including a 10A relay to drive the 100A starter relay was about R100 I used a small multiturn pot and adjusted it to switch off at 12.2v which is about 60% of an AGM if you run a lithium you can adjust it to where you want it to cut off. I know it is not a Victron battery protector but if you have to build 10 of these you will be able to do it cheap. you can Add a contactor that is driven by the incoming AC the moment the contactor gets incoming AC it pulls in supply the plug with AC when the AC fall away the contactor will open and the NC line can be used to switched the Starter relay connecting the battery. I know this is a nasty way to do this but it works.

Axpert vs Sunsynk vs Kodak
The sunsynk is a good option if you plan to feed your extra power back into the grid and it has 2 mppt units The axpert 7,2 also has 2 MPPT converters. In my mind if you are not going to feed back into the grid this is the one to choose. The kodak which I have has only one MPPT, this is a problem when you strings pointing in different directions because of roof space. When the one string has shadow it pulls the other string down. If you have 2 MPPT trackers it makes your design more flexible.

You are on the right track. I have never seen my 5kw inverter at 5kw, I dont know why a person will have lets say the tumble dryer and a geyser on at the same time. I used to have a 3kva inverter and that was too small when the maid wanted to Iron With the 5kw i had the tumble dryer on and she irons and i turned on the kettle and it maxed out at 4,7kw for the time while the kettle was boiling. then it shot down again and the iron turns on for small amounts of time less than one minute when it is hot. The thing is we all look at worst case scenario and speck our system according to this but usually under normal conditions the inverter sits at idle at about 300-500w

1. Are you planning to feed back into the grid? then yes Sunsynk 2. if you do not plan to feed back the luxpower with its 2 MPPT units 3. The pylontechs are good but there are batteries that work very well, i use the Lithium battery SA unit and it works very well 4. like the people said do not use panels that can deliver 18A if your MPPT can use maximum 11 Amp. Hope You have a marvelous time designing and building your system.
