mervinpearce reacted to Coulomb in Please HElp with settingsWelcome to the "solar club" and the forum.
The Axperts aren't actually hybrids, at least per most people's definitions.
Is it a King or VM III like model? If so, you can use a special cable to the battery to get better control.
Does it have monitoring firmware like ICC yet?
Here is my latest, ever changing pylontech settings cheat sheet, assuming you don't or can't use the special cable. For you, setting 02 will come to 140 A.

mervinpearce reacted to Coulomb in Please HElp with settings30 amps is very low; that's appropriate for just one Pylontech US3000. Set it to 140 A, even though your present panels will rarely allow more than 70 A of charging.
@wolfandy has already explained these two; thanks, Wolfandy. Fixing these will solve most of your problems.
These are the manufacturer's numbers. They're quite high, and have been shown to cause the batteries to switch off at times. Use something like 52.5 V for 26; you can use 52.5 V also for 27 so you don't have to worry about the premature float bug, or use my suggested 51.8 V for slightly longer battery life.
You only mentioned one inverter; leaving this on PAL (paralleled) can cause weird problems. Change it to SnG (single inverter), but note that you have to have the inverter switched off for this to work. If you have the power on, it will silently fail to change the setting. Have a charging source connected (AC-in and/or solar), so the inverter doesn't completely switch off when you turn off the switch.
You should change this to 46 V, or 2 V lower than whatever you decide for setting 12.

mervinpearce reacted to Gnome in Pirate ICC??Jeez what a response. Better software is seriously needed in this space.

mervinpearce reacted to phil.g00 in Newbie questionsActually, that is a common misconception.
True, you shouldn't have different tilt/ direction panels in the same string.
To have an entire parallel string at a different tilt or direction to another string is perfectly acceptable, even desirable.
In fact, East/West string combinations compliment each other by allowing for more panels and a longer solar production day for a given size SCC.
-
mervinpearce reacted to phil.g00 in Newbie questionsYes, definitely no more than three in series per string though.
I'd go for 5 strings though, it is especially useful if you have more than one aspect/direction for your panels.
-
mervinpearce reacted to Chris Hobson in Newbie questionsI would only have panels facing different directions if you have more than one SCC.
-
mervinpearce reacted to Chris Hobson in Newbie questionsYes 100%
In Australia and the US it is common to overspec ones panels. Here it is rarer. @Sidewinder I think overspeced by 25% and had no problems. I think one can go to about 30%.
