  1. Check the extra cables connecting the two inverters. Are the firmware versions the same?
  2. Another option. I have a single Axpert 5KVA with 4 Pylontech batteries and 12 x 300w panels. I use the ICC software and also Home assistant. HA/Nodered reads the battery SoC , and if it's 100% it enables a Sonoff relay/contacter to turn the geyser (3KW) on. It then leaves the geyser on until the SoC drops to 95% and then turns the geyser off. It typically does +-30min cycles till the water is hot. It makes the electronics a lot simpler than using a SSR.
  3. Also have a look at a DIN rail 45A unit sold by RS Electronics. It has a display giving all kinds of reading, W VA V, phase angle etc. It also has s RS485 bus. I'm reading mine using a Tasmota device with a RS 485 converter. https://za.rs-online.com/web/p/digital-power-meters/8718302/?sra=pmpn
  4. Hi I'm doing a lot of work around my house and am busy in the garden at the moment. I have buried a 110mm sewerage pipe around the perimeter of my garden, with a opening every 6m. I want to use this pipe as a sleeve for the irrigation pipe that runs from the borehole to the Jojo etc. I am also looking at putting in electrical cable for irrigation valves and maybe lighting on the fence. What type of cable is needed and allowed. 220v or lower voltage? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  5. They are Betta BC-6CNFJ-100 . The date code on them is Z1412xxxx. For 3 years they were hardly cycled. I can't say how deep as I didn't have any means to measure it. For the last year they were cycled deeper, but also properly charged as per this video. Well at least till 58.4V as that is how high my Axperts go. I can't give any extra info on the set in PTA. See https://powerforum.co.za/topic/4294-lead-crystal-batteries-availble/ for another discussion on these batteries.
  6. I have recently upgraded 2 systems to Pylontech. Old system comprise of 8 x 12V 100 Ah Lead Crystal 2 x HA02 balancers. interconnecting cables. One set is in Randburg, and the other in Pretoria. Any offers?
  7. It's still very much planning stages. it would be preferred to not have to use mains from a close by house - legal implications. One pole with three cameras, no mains feed, only solar power. Line of sight wifi may be used to connect other poles - 100m max. It should have enough battery capacity to handle at least one rainy day. Not sure if Poly or Mono panels would be best.
  8. @SilverNodashi Have you made any progress? https://powerforum.co.za/topic/233-solar-setup-for-cctv/?tab=comments#comment-1659
  9. Does anyone have experience with a solar powered CCTV pole. 3 * Hikvision camera 1 x fibre connection 1 x Wifi 1 x POE switch Any suggestions on a possible setup?
  10. My sister has a Axpert 5KVA inverter for backup of parts of the house. The flush mount DB board is a mess. It's too small and needs some extra functionality. It needs to be replaced with a bigger surface mount DB. She has a diagram of how it should be done to comply. Can you recommend someone? There are also a few other items that need to be attended to - amongst others isolators for the geyser and aircons. Finally a CoC would also be required.
  11. Have you got a proper combiner box with fuses for each string? Disconnect/test the strings separately, A DC clamp meter would also help a lot.
  12. Is the following a typical response when pressing <enter> using the console/RS232 cable? ~200146060000FDAD ~200146060000FDAD ~200146060000FDAD ~200146060000FDAD ~200146060000FDAD
  13. Thanks. Will make up a cable - if I can find my serial to USB converter..
  14. I didn't use any termination. Elbow's program gives me output. The program does give me some funny values though on the uS3000s "BatterySOC":0.0, "RemainingAh":0.0, "RemainingWh":0, "MinutesToRun":9999. The other values seem OK. I'm not able to get the cable working with ICC though, the Pylon battery option is not select-able.
  15. Hi I'm looking for a tile hook that will fit this type of tile. The commonly available tiles are all made for roman type tiles, one with a valley. From the rafter the height to the first bend is +-65mm. The standard hooks only offer 25-35 mm.
  16. Having the meter could be nice to see how much energy you are using generated by your setup. This one from RS has Modbus. You can read V, W, VA, power factor and a few other things. I'm sure it can be nicely integrated with a MQQT/Nodered/whatever setup. Only drawback it's limited to 40A https://za.rs-online.com/web/p/digital-power-meters/8718302/
  17. At these prices it may be cheaper/simpler to cut he ring terminal off a real Pylontech cable and getting someone to crimp you a new one at the right length.
  18. Hi @SolarFrans I just watched the following youtube video from CentrurionSolar this morning. It cover/solves just that topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9PLPzRQjdo Using ICC and a cable to connect the batteries to ICC the real battery level is monitored.

Would you mind sharing those settings? What size battery did you get. How are they performing?
