PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
Thank you @Coulomb. I think I will change my system and use the MKS inverter with the lead acid batteries and the PF08 inverter with the PylonTech batteries in that case. That should not be any problem, should it?

PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
@Coulomb perhaps you can assist me with another question please? The Axpert PF08 that I have that is similar to yours does not display any mode to do battery equalisation. Is this something I have to set up or is this feature not included in this inverter? Is there a way around this? Thank you!

PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
Thank you @Coulomb. All it was is the inverter would not wake up unless there was sufficient solar radiation. So as soon as the minimum input voltage was reached the inverter connected at once. All is working well at the moment. Today I received an ICC Raspberry kit to manage the batteries properly. 1. Is there any explanation on the correct connection between the Pylontech to Raspberry, for which I do have a cable as well? What I don't understand is where do I connect the Pylontech BMS cable to the batteries and 2. how to I connect the Axpert MKS 5K inverter to the Raspberry and 3. is there any specific settings on the Raspberry that I need to enter to ensure it connects to both the Pylontech batteries and to the inverter in the software? Thanks kindly Regards

PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
Hello @Coulomb With your assistance I set the inverter to work with the batteries. Thanks for that. Now I have a different issue. For the last few days the system worked well until yesterday. When I switch everything on, the batteries wakes up the inverter. There are no error and no alarm. Yet, I do not have 230V output!! I have checked the wiring, reset the inverter, reset the batteries, disconnected and reconnected everything, tested all voltages from the PV input to the AC output. In the past I could reset the system with the lead acid batteries and it would work with no problem. However, this is new to me. After running strong for two years with no issues, what may be the matter? It's an Axpert MKS 5KVA inverter. Do you have a solution please? Thank you

PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
Hi @Coulombthank you for the reply. I am a bit confused. You said " Err, the manufacturer is wrong. What would they know? Coulomb and many members here say "use 52.5 V!" More seriously, they know how to eek the last coulomb from the battery, but not how to connect to inexpensive inverters that overshoot badly." Which setting number would that 52.5V apply to? Sorry, my mistake. It is an Axpert MKS 5KVA inverter. Will a comms cable help me? I am considering the ICC package but I have a Pi and am tying to establish what I should do with the software once loaded on the Pi. Anyhow I just need a way to see that everything is 100% The E4 error was definitely E4 and not EQ. I turned that off before usine the PylonTech. It seems this error was because the batteries was not fully charged. It has gone now. Regards

PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
@Coulomb Thank you for your input and assistance so far. Today I connected the PylonTech batteries to my MKS PF 5K inverter and followed the PylonTech battery start up procedure. I also set the inverter settings as per the recommended settings by PylonTech. System started up well and no problems. I let the batteries run on charge the whole day and switched over to this system using the changeover switch. After a while I went back to look if everything was still fine, and I must say, thusfar the 6 battery units are not depleting fast. These have run for 5 hours now and still show 80% However, the inverter has an error which I cannot cancel. It is displaying E4, flashing and with a beeping sound. I do not find this error listed in my manual. Do you have any idea what is the cause of this error? I wish to point out that I do not have a comms cable from the batteries connected to the inverter, and I suspect this error is triggered as the inverter is unable to read the battery voltage. I am aware that the Axpert voltage tracking is not very accurate, and do not know whether I would be safe to plug the RJ45 cable from the PylonTech comms port to the Axpert. If I did use this comms cable, would I get a better idea of the voltages? I do not want to damage the inverter nor the batteries simply doing this if this is unsafe and I do not find any documented case if this cable could be connected between the two devices. How do I go about this? Thanks once again

PylonTech US3000C 3.5kWh Lithium-ion Batteries with Axpert MKS 5Kw inverter
Hello all and Coulomb I have 2 Axpert inverters supplying a system. The power are split and balanced for the flooded Excide batteries we use at the moment. Thing is these batteries seems to be going one after the other. I am considering 7 Pylontech US3000C used as follows: 3X batteries on the one Axpert inverter with lighter usage 4x batteries on the other Axpert inverter with higher usage and critical full time supply A few questions. 1. Are these inverters compatible with Li-Ion batteries? I note that when selecting battery type there are three options. Flooded, AGM and USER DEFINED 2. One inverter is powered with 12x JE 330W panels (the one with lighter usage) and one inverter is powered with 12x Canadian Solar 245W panels. Would this type of connection be useable with Li-Ion? The VOC on both inverters are 145V and the array voltage 72V both. Will this affect the batteries in any negative way? Any other advice? Thanking you all!

Axpert 5KVA-PAR-A charger board damaged
Hello again. A friend had his inverter fail last weekend and asked me to post a question here. It's an Axpert 5KVA-PAR-A inverter. Everything else works but he traced the fault to a small part on the board. Unfortunately it is impossible to read the number on the part as it is so tint The board part number is 16-500483-06G-(A) The item in question is the small black chip in the center of the board photograph MARKED u18. The number I read off it is VTI but we have no idea what this is. Could anyone assist with what this part is, and/or where to find a new charger board? Is there a repair manual for this inverter somewhere? Thanks a lot

AXPERT 5KVA Firmware
Oh thanks a stack, mate! Is there a special update procedure?

AXPERT 5KVA Firmware
@Coulomb I have searched fruitlessly and asked for an upgraded firmware for this inverter. I have noticed on the AEVA forums you are active with firmware development and other subjects. Please tell me if you can recommend the upgraded firmware for my inverter, the details on the photographs? I have checked and confirmed that this is a proper Voltronic inverter and not a clone as per some of your other posts on the AEVA forum Mine has the premature floating charge issue and I want to sort that out. I might add that otherwise this inverter has performed flawlessly since April. Thank you!

Axpert MKS 5Kw refuses to power up.
Maybe Chris can help me here My inverter will not power up I have an Axpert MKS 5KVA inverter. The system runs on 2 strings of 325W panels. Presently my PV supply measures 83V. Battery voltage is at 50.1V and it's a 48V battery system Open circuit voltage is spot on within the manual specification and I have checked everything. It has been running seamlessly since April. and this morning it started a scheduled battery equalisation I was working in my workshop when the power went off. I checked everything and noticed that the inverter will not switch on at all. I am presently running on grid power, and would like to know if there is any way to determine if the inverter has packed up? The supplier is shrugging me off as they did not do the installation. This is of course a huge frustration to me and I will not open the inverter, breaking the seal as this inverter is stuill under warranty What can I do to check if all is well and diagnose the problem? Thank you Sass

Axpert MKS 5Kw settings for 48V battery bank. (Chris Hobson, can you assist please?)
Thank you. Will experiment with setting 26. I vaguely remember setting that higher but will double check. Meanwhile I think leaving the PV disconnected from the inverter until such time that there's sufficient radiation is also a work around. I might even consider adding a timer to the DB for that as the efficiency of the PV array is really astounding. I can confirm there that setting 32 is available and I am experimenting with that setting. Testing the battery bank at present with 12 batteries parallel in 3 strings of 48V and will soon advise what changes I've made to ensure the batteries are all charging fully. I took your advice and bought 3x Victron battery balancers. Waiting for delivery of those and will install these to ensure these are all charged equally. After your advice I read a number of white papers on battery setup and Victron has a write up that dispels many myths. I went their recommended connectivity route and suddenly have a heck of a lot more standby time and I notice a much slower discharge of batteries. However it's still early days and I need to make sure of my facts. It's a good time for me to do the experiment, being deep winter at present. Thanks!

Axpert MKS 5Kw settings for 48V battery bank. (Chris Hobson, can you assist please?)
Coulomb, firstly I want to thank you for the guidelines. I experimented and am convinced this inverter has the floating point bug. Here's what i did. 1. I disconnected the PV and connected the UPS to grid. Next I ran battery EQ and charging the battery pack fully. I ended with more than 56V on the display. Didn't bother to test the voltage at that point as this was already an eye opener. 2. I've been running on PV for a solid 36 hours now with no problem. That fact alone proves the battery bank is set and functioning properly. I notice that the power from the panels are only 3A at this time of the morning, as we're in deep winter. So I will switch off the panels and let the battery voltage drain to charging voltage. When I see I get the appropriate amps I will turn the panels back on and see if the charging takes place and if the batteries are fully charged up to set target voltage, and if this is true, not fake as is the case with the bug. 3. I purchased 3 Victron battery balancers on your recommendation. These will arrive in a few days and I will install those. Today is essentially the coldest day we have had this winter so I don't expect much in terms of solar radiation although it is fully sunny with no clouds. I will also at some stage install the new firmware. Having done hundreds of computer firmware updates in my life I don't fear this process, though I hope I have the correct firmware that will eliminate the bug. I thank you for your patience and advice. Without your help I would have been stuck. Obviously battery charging from grid is not ideal as these panels should suffce, but I am hopeful that with the newer firmware my problems will be at an end. Will leave feedback here Thanks!

Axpert MKS 5Kw settings for 48V battery bank. (Chris Hobson, can you assist please?)
Setting 5 is enabled and setting 26 is set to 58.4, however when doing the equalisation I rarely see anything above 56.9 However the setting 05 is set to Fld. So you think I should change that to USR?
