Axpert King - can't stop it charging from utility
Hi @Ant and @miles the KIng will always charge the batteries with Utility while Utility is available. The best to do is to set the charge rate at 2A and live with it. Therefore set Setting # 11 to 2A.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
@Coulomb is there any way to download the firmware from an inverter and load it onto another inverter? no one seems to have the firmware available.

Axpert Firmware 72.70
@Pieter Annandale be aware not to load other firmware than King firmware (71.61 or 71.70) to your inverter as you can turn it into a brick.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
@Pieter Annandale if you find the 71.70 firmware please share as I'm also desperately looking for it. Seems that the new Kings are coming with it but the firmware is not available.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
How I understand is that it is an .exe file that you need to run while the inverter is connected to your laptop/pc. I also understand that if you load the wrong firmware you will change your inverter into a brick. (It will not work any further and you would not be able to revert back to previous firmware) (PC card to be replaced) I'm busy with Mustek that is one of the importers of the Axpert inverters and they (Mustek) actually brand it as Mecer. It might be good if you also jump on the wagon and contact Trevor at Mustek to follow up on Firmware update. Will keep you updated when I hear any news from Mustek.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Hi @SnoopySniper After I changed the charging settings the same freeze happened with my inverter at 08:38 this morning. I understand from @miles that his Kings is running on Firmware 71.70. We need to get hold of the updated firmware soon.

Mecer/Axpert inverter Settings
Hallo @miles Where is FCS based? Would like to get hold of updated firmware as currently running on 71.50 and it is a disaster!!!!

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Thanks @SnoopySniper I will set my discharge and floating also to these values tonight. Hopefully I can report back the same positive message tomorrow night.

Axpert inverter stops accepting PV power
Very interesting: What model inverter are you using, and what year was it manufactured? Where did you buy the clone from? and where did you get the new one from? I did replace an inverter once but the same problem exist.

Solar Panel angle
Hi @georgelza iPhone Apps has an App called Sun Seeker. You search your location an it will show you the angles at the time you select (Hour, day month, etc) It is actually breathtaking to see how much you loose due to angle.

Axpert inverter stops accepting PV power
Hi @Corne Landsberg and @Liz There are a few guys experiencing the same issue at the moment with Axpert Inverters. (Sound like the issue is with 2018 and 2019 models) I am also struggling with the same issue whereby the PV Watts will drop to zero and it will take about 30 to 40 seconds to recover. The PV Watts will also freeze up sometimes twice a day. (If it freeze you only need to switch off the PV supply to the inverter and switch it back on after about 60 seconds) I am also experiencing the most dips in PV Watts between 11:00 and 13:00. Sometimes it is load related and other times it dips with the slightest changes. Mustek (Inverter supplier) is currently investigating this issue for us. See PV Watts trend below: I did change the Bulk Charging Volts from 53.5V as per recommendations for LiFe batteries to 54.1V at 13:16 on the graph above. I was very excited about the improvement but today it almost did the same between 11:00 and 13:00 as yesterday. I must admit that it is better now but the problem still exist. Hope the manufacturers come back with a solution fast. Go and follow "Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)" on this forum, to be kept updated.

Axpert (Backup and Self Consumption)
Hi @Dean Should you have Axpert Kings, then you need a Raspberry Pi (ICC software) per Inverter. For the other Axpert inverters you only need one for the inverters in parallel. To get a better answer it will be best to raise this question on the ICC forum group. Just search for the forum.

Mecer/Axpert inverter Settings
@SnoopySniper if you say you made small changes, what did you change? I changed my Bulk Charging voltage from 53.5 to 54.1 this afternoon and it seems to have made a positive difference. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Hi @DaveSA I changed the Bulk Charging Voltage from 53.5V to 54.1V at 13:16 and I must say I saw an improvement on the dips. Not sure how long it will last but for now it is surely better. See trend below The last few dips were caused by load change. For now I'm excited, but not sure if this is the root cause of the problem.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Hi @Coulomb and @DaveSA Currently my Bulk charging volts is set to 53.5V. Do I need to increase it or decrease it?

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
I’m surely going to mention your name to them as well, for them to understand the problem is only to become bigger as more units are installed. I am experiencing the freezes normally one or two times a day. I’m also experiencing PV dips throughout the day, and it is irritating to say the least. (Refer to previous trend posted) on paper the Axpert King is one of the best inverters due t the ability to share loads between powers sources but with the current issues I’m experiencing I would not recommend these inverters to anyone.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Hi @DaveSA I also bought my inverter from Mustek. I had the first unit replaced and the second one is still doing the same. Also busy with Mustek at the moment (Trevor and Lubo) but with no luck. We need to put more pressure on Mustek for them to put pressure on their supplier.

Mecer/Axpert inverter Settings
Good day all @SnoopySniper try to only switch off the PV feed to the inverter for about 60 seconds the next time it freeze. The freeze has something to do with the PV feed. I know of four people including you that is experiencing this now. Older units is not doing it at all. Hope the manufacturer get the message from the customers buying from them. I tried to contact Voltronics directly but without any luck.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Hallo Peter Where did you buy your Inverter from? What is your supplier's feedback regarding this issue? I'm busy with Mustek to try and solve the issue but with not much luck.

Axpert - strange behaviour (Potential MPPT issue)
Hallo Peter I am experiencing the same issues with my Axpert King (5K) Inverter. Freezed twice today but due to fairly constant monitoring rectified it quick enough not to loose to much PV Watts. As you mentioned it dips normally with load change (Normally when the load drop) and it is annoying to say the least. Busy with the Inverter supplier but not much luck as they are only Suppliers and repairers and not installers. Please keep me updated should you find a cure and I'll do the same. Jaco

Thanks for the confirmation on the switching part.

can i use 300 watts 20 panels with aerox 5.2KW
Hi @mazo78 I also think you can at least have 30% more Solar max power connected to the Inverter, due to efficiency you might struggle to reach more than 80% of the panel design spec at sun peaking periods. It is more crucial to stay within the 450VDC. In your case it should be close to 370VDC if you take 37V per panel x 10. Other limiting factor can be the Amps as one panel = 9 Amps x 10 panels =90Amps. Your Inverter can handle 80 Amps on the MPPT. Hope it helps.

ICC Ver 2.7.3 Upgrade
You have an impressive system. The Inverters are then most probably Axpert MKS II's. (Where did you buy them?) Only question still not answered is: When your units switch to Eskom due to the fact that the solar power is insufficient, is the load shared by Solar and Eskom or is it only Eskom? Thanks for the reply thus far.
