FragtioN reacted to B1G_WH1T3 in LUXPOWER TEK Inverter EPS errorMorning all
So update, I'm rather stubborn so took the fighting force to luxpower. Finally got it sorted after back and forth arguing etc.
They rolled out Firmware cBaa-12777F on 27 Feb 07:00 AM, and since then I have not had any issue with the EPS error.
Also not sure what the rules are around reviewing companies? aka where I bought the inverter and support etc around it. if this community feels like name and shame is appropriate I'm game to give out my experience dealing with them.

FragtioN reacted to Firoz in LUXPOWER TEK Inverter EPS errorMy issue is resolved for now:
Had the same issue and was advised as follows:- 1. Ensure you have the latest firmware 2. adjust the charge voltage to 54,6 3. Set ac charge according to SOC 90-100% and not time. I was told, by Luxpowertek: “EPS voltage high issue during fail to limit output when grid fail, and grid frequency changed a lot” Hope this helps. Seems to have worked in my case

FragtioN reacted to zsde in Luxpower FirmwareWas pretty impressed with the tech specs when they first appeared in SA. My neighbour got himself two in parallel with his installation. Fortunately or unfortunately he is not technically minded about his installation and just uses it. The mobile app was so messed up by the Installer that he has a view only on each inverter individually but unable to change anything. His Desktop app he never got going as the two units are registered on an Admin account the installer created.
He did try for months to get hold of someone at Luxpower to reset the WiFi modules to create an account that he can control and use. To date that was an impossibility, but then again he is happy to just let the system do whatever it does.
He checks the state of the batteries via the Inverter display and thats it.
Aspergo is the official distributer. He has contacted them in the past but I suppose he just gave up.
From that perspective, and until there is some positive feedback on how someone got the deserved support, this Inverter is not on my shortlist anymore.

FragtioN reacted to Abe53 in 18650 PowerwallGood evening Powerites,
Thanks Jason for the timely powerwall topic.
It was funny to see a load shedding thread on another forum descend to a bragging contest of "my solar system is bigger than yours... 😉
I cannot compete with Leszek or Delphinus's workmanship but while I can get 18650 Lithium-Ion cells for (almost) free I will keep on using them for our houses on the farm. KISS is my motto. Herewith photos of one of my 14S powerwalls, this one currently 100P . Don't laugh, it works fine, although I have to occasionally don my BMS hat and use that thing with the 2x24V bulbs to check strings under load to diagnose and replace faulty cells.
My reason for showing this is to inquire if a forumite perhaps has an idea for a better architecture for a 18650 cell powerwall?
Ja, ons kan self!
(Yes, we can DIY)

FragtioN got a reaction from Theog17 in Luxpower FirmwareSimilar problem here. I'm on cbaa-121613. Is this the latest? How can we upgrade, without bringing the installer into the equation? I bought this equipment so should be able to do this myself... 🤔?

FragtioN reacted to Quinten in LUXPOWER TEK Inverter EPS errorOnly Luxpower or installer on installer account can upgrade Firmware. So you will need to press on installers button to have this done. Firmware can fix many issues you have. Do this first before looking for a cause to an issue.

FragtioN reacted to Scorp007 in LUXPOWER TEK Inverter EPS errorIn my reply I suggested when you have the EPS problem have you actually measured the output voltage when the inverter goes over to provide power from battery on your low loads.
I do understand that you have set it to different voltages.
The idea is to verify that the output voltage differs at below 1000W load and above in order to see how well it regulates.

FragtioN got a reaction from Anton654 in LUXPOWER TEK Inverter EPS errorHi guys
We recently got a brand new Lux Powertek 5kW installed at my parents place with a 100Ah shoto lithium phosphate battery (not yet connected to comms port, and the installer set the inverter to lead-acid mode...), and am also seeing this "EPS Voltage High" error which randomly occurs sometimes whenever switching from grid to backup. It seems to mostly happen at night after 12am, when lights are off and the load on the inverter is low...
I've called the installer and he doesn't seem to know what the problem could be, suggesting that he may need to "come and check the configuration on the unit"...
My model shows as 66944, firmware version: cbaa-121613
I assume that this isn't a hardware fault on the inverter itself, so I hope that we won't need to get the whole inverter itself replaced, only to find that the same issue occurs on the replacement unit?
Our setup doesn't have any SPDs. Just a common ELCB in the main breaker box, and a sub panel with two 32A breakers (Inverter in, inverter out) with a 40A changeover switch between each of them (the inverter is wired to the db)
One other thing I should probably mention, is that I noticed the installer didn't set the correct mains voltage for the unit when we had it installed. It was still set to 208V AC... So, the day after we had the unit installed, I went through the config and manually adjusted this to 230V accordingly (using the web gui at https://af.luxpowertek.com/WManage/web/maintain/remoteSetOffGrid), and it was the night after doing that ,that we first encountered this problem... I'm not sure if this was a co-incidence or not, but I find it difficult to believe that this has anything to do with the error message as 230V is obviously in line with our designated mains voltage here in SA , so the amended configuration should work correctly as far as I would expect
From what I understand, the EPS voltage refers to the inverter's OUTPUT voltage. So if it's complaining that this is too high, then it means the abnormal surge is on the output side? Perhaps lowering the configured voltage to 220V instead could alleviate the problem?
Edit: I've just set my EPS voltage to 220 (from 230), and will be testing to see if the problem occurs again in the coming days! I can confirm that it can safely be adjusted on the fly, even while the inverter is supplying backup power, which is also pretty neat.
I hope to change this back to 230V but would need to first try the firmware update route... Where can we obtain the latest firmware?
Our unit is vertically wall-mounted and should be more than sufficiently ventilated, so I highly doubt that is the problem?...
Paid a pretty penny for this system, so naturally not very impressed by this issue, although I have to admit it does seem like a very capable inverter apart from this
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks a million

FragtioN reacted to Anton654 in LUXPOWER TEK Inverter EPS errorHi, I recently got a 5kva LuxPowerTek inverter with a Dyness lit battery. You have an option to monitor the setup on an app. I got an error this morning, when loadshedding started it was unable to supply backup power. I restarted the inverter and then it was working afterwards.
The inverter is not connected to the db board, it comes as a pre assembled trollie setup.
I noticed on the app that I got the same errors since I got it and it seems to occur everytime loadshedding starts and when it switches over to supply backup power. Error EPS Voltage High.
Can anyone maybe assist or advice. Thanks.
