So for the last 9 years or so I've had a simple 12v lighting system in the house with a 120ah battery running off a 12v 120watt panel in turn running 34 led lights. I've had zero failures of any of the equipment and the battery that I had lasted me a good 7 years. Success. The new install had to actually work around the small panel as I refused to move it or change anything attached to that system.
I decided to up it a bit, but knew that I was in over my head. So Alumo did the install yesterday. 
12 x 470w panels, 8KW Sunsynk and 2x 5.5KV greenrich batteries. I'd added Cbi wifi timers on my geysers and have 1 geyser on the system (smaller one) and one on the grid. 

I've been in a mad rush to finish painting the area where the panels were going to go as the roof hadn't seen any paint in the last 9 years. The final plan is to add more panels towards the back of the property as we have space for a good 10-12 more. 

The set up has been installed in our laundry and I couldn't wish for a better layout. It sits right next to my existing system and that system got a few smiles from the installer who said....meh, it works and it works well. 🙂

It is because of people like me that I hate forums! 
I thought about lying to hide my stupidity...
I went up disconnected everything measured them separately getting 35v on relatively cloudy day. Connected it all back up and still had an issue...
Then I realised I had temporarily connected a 21v solar panel (on the ground and not in same location)also in parallel to charge the (12v) batteries individually while I installed the solar panels on roof. 
I total forgot that I had the spare old panel connected. It was only when you said I was getting leakage that I realised the problem (although I was convinced I had removed it)
Since the batteries 24v batteries had been run dead flat, I am assuming they were unable to charge more than the 21.6v of the 12v panel.
Once I disconnected the panel it all was good...
That's my version and I am sticking to it!!!

They are decent batteries and come with a number of models to choose from. Note though that most of them are 0.5c vs say the 1c of the Hubbles. Support is good and responsive and they pair nicely with most major inverters 

Having an issue with batteries that dont charge.
Hubble is sending a person out tomorrow to test the batteries to see what is wrong.
 
Must say so far its good after sales service I got from Hubble.
 
Phoned 3 times during the day to hear if the person/technician made contact and to help with settings so batteries can charge with grid power.

I also had a 24V inverter and the choices for lithium batteries are not amazing in terms of value/kwh for money .  I would look at the Pylontech UP2500. Ultimately the best value is with 48volt inverters/batteries but that requires quite a bit more in terms of investment.

Can just talk good things about my S-100 fitted 6 months ago without comms to a 2.4kw Axpert.
Just on the balancer. The Victron Balancer will not work as the voltage is too low to trigger the balancer.
I just monitor each battery voltage to see when I should charge the lower one. So far no need.
As far as the so called higher expense of 12V lithium. I paid R3667 per kWh. I have not seen any 24/48V coming even close to this
