Thank you Calvin for the reply - currently i have 4 X 80AH batteries, do you think i can run it of two of them and repair the other two, and then swop the other two again?

i have a Axpert King, and after going through what i think is the manual and looking elsewhere, i cant determine how to run it without the batteries connected to it (normal 80AH lead acid batteries i suspect is affected by sulfation), and i want to disconnect them and hook it up to a maintenance charger to repair the batteries. is it possible to start up the inverter without the batteries connected to it? The catch here is that i cant run the charger to repair the batteries if i cant get the inverter to power up without them.

Hi @P1000 - i only noticed the negative watts reading after you mentioned it, i clearly missed that, how does a battery go into a negative reading then?

Hi Everyone can anyone help me with this, why is my inverter (Axpert King 5KW) using the batteries to power loads when there is sufficient solar and utility (Eskom) power available? i have looked at the settings and as far as possible i set it to not use the batteries unless solar and eskom is zero. Am i missing something here??

I had the same issue at one point - i am using watchpower, and had several settings changes made over time, and i had to set the watchpower settings back to defaults, and then it power was restored from my PV. (i also had a PV voltage reading, but no power coming from the array) Not sure if that will be of any use, but defaulting all the settings made my PV work again

Hi Everyone i discovered something strange while trying to set the battery equalization settings via Watchpower, but i was unable to do so, so i thought to go to the inverter itself and change the program settings via the remote panel, only to discover there is nothing i can change, but i can only cycle through the various outputs of solar/utility/batteries as well as the firmware version of the inverter and panel (all the program settings shown in the manual is not available any more?) i can only change certain setting through watchpower and now i am unable to access the other settings which was available on the panel before.

Hi everyone when using watchpower to enable the battery equalization setting, i get an error when the battery type is set to AGM, but i get no error (setting successful) when the battery type is set to "FLOODED" - why is that? i am using Elite Lead Acid Batteries ( 4 X 80AH) thanks

Hi Coulomb Thank you for that explanation, i thought that is what it might mean, but i had to be sure..... The reason i ask is because i have now joined the solar club, and i want to run the house on solar for as much as possible (as most would who has done so i guess), and use the batteries and then Eskom last (but use solar to charge and maintain the charge as much as possible)

Hi everyone i am looking for a good solar installer installer that wont cost an arm and a leg and wont try and pawn off inferior equipment just because i am new to this... lol i have been looking at quite a few installers but i simply do not know who is worthwhile? Hi everyone how can i set my inverter to bypass mode? (i am studying the manual but he chinglish is getting to me) when i put the kettle on for example, the inverter sounds like it is about to take off, and that is with utility power available..... how can i set it so that every time i use the kettle\dishwasher\washing machine it doesn't ramp up like that and just use eskom power directly??

Hi Plaashaas yes, i downloaded the watchpower app, and from the phone, it detects the inverter and the pairing can be made, however it says that an app is required to manage the device, but from within the app nothing is detected

Gentlemen, i thank you for your advice, after trying the firmware update four times, the panel finally came back online and it is working as it should, but not the Bluetooth... lol Thanking you kindly for all your input, i really learned a lot today 😁

oddly enough, i reverted back to 02.40 and the panel came back online, it appears that with 02.49 it just stays "dead"

Hi Coulomb - thank you for the reply - after the update i see that the panel is now "dead", the is off but i can still access it via my serial cable - must i not perhaps do the DSP part as well to complete the upgrade? i cant see if the MCU upgrade was successful (i assume it was?)

i updated the MCU first as you said, and that went through succesfully, but the file i downloaded does not contain the file to update the DSP - any idea where i can find the dps.hex file? The inverter is now on 71.93 and the remote module MCU is done, i just need the file to update the DSP

the bluetooth detects the device and it is able to pair with it, but within the watchpower app it does not detect the inverter i am using a Galaxy S9 on android 10

Thanks Plaashaas - it was quite frustrating, cant seem to get the Bluetooth working, so i am hoping this update will work in getting it to work

Yes, i tried several times, but there was no comms to the unit at all - usb, bluetooth and serial port, none were working

@Coulomb - i ended up making a few calls, and the supplier had a spare module which i could use to test, and lo and behold, i plugged in the "test" module and it worked, i was able to confirm all the settings via that one, so it appears that mine just died in the upgrade process, which i found rather strange, so i am getting a replacement module on monday. @Plaashaas - i wish i could, all comms to that module is gone, no lights, no screen - just died on me... 😑
