  1. My system is 5kw sunsynk, 12x540w JA, 1 x 5.5 hubble. My battery generally runs out at 12 - 1am. Is it worth it financially long term to buy a second battery? My geyser needs to warm up in the morning in winter time. (see pic) in summer it's generally hot enough for the morning shower without turning on. So in other words, in winter time I would have to buy about 5 units a day and summer time probably about 1-2 units. The other question I have is that once my battery has reached my 30% DOD, then it drains slowly... Is this normal? (see pic) How do I stop it from draining?
  2. Is it external fans? If so how have you mounted them?
  3. thanks for the info all! What about having a fan over the batteries? since battery life is affected with high temps... My battery and inverter are both in the garage, where temps can get high in summer.
  4. Are the fans running permanently? Or only when it gets hot? Where did you wire them too? Because they run off 12v?
  5. Wow, that's very hot!
  6. I have a sunsynk 5kw inverter and I have noticed it gets quite hot on the outside. I don't hear a fan coming on, at what temperature is the internal fan meant to start?
  7. Hi, I have a 5kw sunsynk inverter with a 5.5kw hubble battery. (no pv yet) Sometimes when the electricity goes off (for load shedding) the inverter doesn't switch over to battery power immediately. Then after a few minutes it goes onto the battery. But if I flip the mains switch on my DB board, it goes onto battery immediately without cutting electricity. My installer doesn't know why it's doing this either. Any ideas please?
  8. Hi, So I filled in the form to get my 5kw sunsynk upgraded. Please tell me where i see what version im running? im using solarman app
  9. They got back to me today, I have given them my login details
  10. thanks, I will contact them! for those wanting a firmware update, here is the form to fill in: https://www.sunsynk.org/up-grade
  11. I have a sunsynk 5kw and planning on installing 12 x 540w.
  12. So I emailed them, unfortunately no reply. Another question, I have the old data logger that works with solarman app. Was I meant to get the new data logger with my inverter? (bought in December 2021). How do I do a firmware update with the old data loggger?
  13. Thank you
  14. I would also know how you get this? do you have to contact solarman app dev?
  15. Is the inverter remote control from the solarman bussines app? I can't seem to see that in the solarman smart app
  16. im still waiting for my PV to be installed. I will install the PV then decide whats needed.
  17. can you use the std wifi modlue with solarassistant?
  18. thanks, is it this one? https://powerforum-store.co.za/collections/featured-products/products/sunsynk-wifi-data-logger Do you use it? it is a lot better than solarman?
  19. Hi, I recently installed a 5kw sunsynk. It came with a wifi module and I installed SOLARMAN smart app. This app doesnt really update real time and it also doesnt have temperature monitoring. What are my other options? I see there is an app called Sunsynk logger which seems good, do I need to buy a different dongle?
  20. thanks, good info there! I have ordered 12 x 540W JA
  21. Compatability with hubble?
  22. and then if they do a set tariff for households, like a increase the monthly fee to use eskom and lower the KWh tariff... then we all screwed.
  23. I want to know if guys have read this article on eskom tariff restructure.... https://mybroadband.co.za/news/energy/431112-south-africans-with-solar-panels-could-pay-1000-more-for-electricity-than-big-power-users.html I have bought my inverter and battery, getting this installed soon. Wondering if its still a good idea to go solar (grid tied). I dont have enough capital to go offgrid.
  24. thats a good price. Did they say if they had other high watt panels in stock?
  25. Makes a lot of sense, but hoping I'm not getting an extra family member anytime soon xD Thanks for your input
