Hi Everyone,

Mecer 5kva inverter does not pick up the battery. Had lightning and high surge damaged the board. Mecer says it is going to cost R7000 to replace the MAIN PCB ASSY V II 5K (same as 31-550264-05G/31- 550264-01G) This is almost a new inverter

Any suggestion on how to fix this for cheaper

That sounds like there could be carbonisation of the PCB. That's really bad and nearly impossible to repair. Depending on the surge, it might be localised and relatively easy to repair, or it might be scorched earth.
