Solar panel angle vs extra panels

Featured Replies

Staying in GP. My roof is at 10 deg from horisontal but very close to north facing. Now comes my question: should I rather spend money on tilting panel mounts for a better angle or spend that money on a couple of extra panels and stay at 10 deg? Hope someone has done some calculations. Thank you

Free online calculator here from NREL. My vote goes to Angle but you can calculate it easy….

Not sure of your location but if you live in very windy area, rather leave the panels mounted flush to the roof and add extra for better protection. It might be more complicated and costly to windproof the mountings with tilted angle, than to add couple of extra panels.
