@EvandtrouxI also have two 5000 ES in parallel they are running on 040 04 301 and 041 04 301 and I'm pretty satisfied with the performance.

  • Hi, I received your message, I will email the Firmware to you.

Hi @zsde - any chances you can please share 40.06 and 41.06 with me.  Thanks!

Hi @MikeP, did you get the firmware? If not, I can send it to you. Send me your email address.

Howzit - yes, I did get the firmware.  Thanks all.  My canbus issues returned this morning after working fine for a week (after updating the SW).  And error 08 returned as well.  I have an old 5000ES, (came out with ver 02 of the software).   I was wondering, anyone tried the 10kw KODAK?  I shudder to think as they all come from the same factory.  Perhaps it is time for a Deye/Sunsynk or a new 5000ES (assuming the design fault? has been corrected)

I would suggest you go with the Deye/Sunsynk. After a lot of research on the Growatt, they are quite a few steps behind the likes of Deye/Sunsynk, Victron etc. I still think the growatt is a great inverter and great value for money but it's short of a few features that some of us really want, biggest issues being it's not a proper Hybrid and does not Blend as it should, I would assume if Growatt fixed that in their Firmware it would be a game changer for them.

Hi Everyone,

I have two growatt ES5000SPF inverters in parallel with two different firmware versions.

The older one has the following firmware:

040 02 909 (Inverter), and

041 02 907 (MPPT)

The latest one has the following firmware:

040 05 7.01 (Inverter), and

041 05 7.01

Could someone please assist me with the firmware flash tools and bin files.  I would like to upgrade the firmware on my first inverter to be at least the same as the latest inverter.

The latest inverter has much better fan control and MPPT characteristics.

I would really appreciate it if someone can assist me.

I have upgraded several of my other inverters in the past (Mercer and Solis).

Hope you all have a spectacular day!

Could I also get a copy of that firmware? I have an SPF5000ES and need to update firmware.

Firmware received from Growatt China (Feb 2022)

I used that guide and it worked out that the inverter has to be in Battery standby mode, else it won’t start the process.
i.e. The only thing to be connected to the inverter is the battery. Disconnect Solar and disconnect all loads.

There was a step-by-step instruction on elleyhillpower.co.za however their website has been down for more than a week now, not sure why. The file "SOP" gives decent instructions to follow.

Installation tool included in the 40.06.rar

Ok, here is exactly what I did.

SPF5000ES running the following firmware

040 04 301

041 04 301

Disconnected load, panels and AC input. Running only on Pylontech US2000 batteries with comm cable still connected.

Followed ISP SOP and connected USB cable and opened ISP. Tried to flash the F2809.bin first and just gets stuck at Send: Start!

Tried at least 10 times. Also removed battery comm cable and still no change. Tried starting flash then powered on inverter, tried shutting down and restarting. Tried another PC. Negative results.

Inverter just keeps beeping and stuck at same message. Comm board has all lights still flashing. I know I have communication to inverter because on ISP tool I clicked "TEST"" before flashing.

Tried loading the F030.bin file and it worked no problem.

So I assume the comm board is good if I am able to flash the F030 file but not the F2809???

Now when I power up the inverter I show the following firmware:

008 00 316

041 06 104

My display and all buttons still work, all LED's on the comm board still work, I am able to change settings on the inverter but will not connect to anything.

Does anyone know how to reset and SPF5000ES back to factory settings? I saw in another post about pushing buttons 2&3, entering password 305 then at step 34 go to reset but it will not let me reset.

Does anyone know where I can buy a comm board from?

Any suggestions? I do not have a warranty for this and I installed myself.

I am still able to re-flash the F030 file no problem. Soo... wierd!

Yes using Windows 10 and made all updates current. Tried with both ISP V 4.20 & 4.21. I hace communication with inverter and all LED's and display function. I can flash the F030 .bin no problem but not the F2809

Ok, I figured it out! For some reason the F2809 file was getting stuck. So I left the inverter (connected to battery only) in the ON position, closed the ISP tool, disconnected the USB cable and turned off the batteries.

I then plugged back in the USB cable, launched the ISP tool and selected the correct file, etc then pressed flash. I waited 2 seconds then turned back on the batteries and it started to reflash!!
