Hi,

To those who concerned, for the growatt grid tied inverter you can get the access to the data at

Login with the credentials.

In the page, click on "Device List" tab then on "MIN/MIC/MOD/NEO", which shows a table of devices connected. Double click on the device you wish to query the data, a pop window appears with history. There is search button and export button.

Export will give the excel tabulated data for the current day. In the search tab you can download the data for any day, I could go upto 4 months of data at max. At a time you can download data for 4 days in a single excel, though the website says maximum 7 days it prints "Too large file" if you select more than 4 or 5 days at a time.

Attaching the screenshots for the reference.

Regards,

antarya

Hi @Antarya

There are no devices under the MIN/MIC/MOD/NEO option 🤷🏼‍♂️

What type of inverter are you using?

Depending on the model on-grid, off-grid, hybird etc you can check the following tabs

"Inverter", "MAX/MID/MAC", "Storage", "Hybrid Inverter"

Hi All,

@zsde @Mike_C@L_D@Graham_S and other growatt users,

I have a request. We are using Growatt MIN5000TL-X on-grid inverter without battery system. Lately, our inverter is going to standby mode/ offline as inverter voltage rises above 255-260V which is not safe for many appliances in the house. Growatt engineers claimed it is due to high grid voltage first, then they blamed on Earthing, later the thin cables and now they said maybe due to home UPS. We have checked for all the other issues in the plant and it is all normal. My doubt is their inverter is faulty but they are not just agreeing. It is just 4 months old.

I wanted a few datasheets from other Growatt users where I can compare to check the AC output voltage of other inverters. The datasheet particularly for the days where sunlight is bright. Only those days we see the inverter issue rest of the days quite less if not zero. In 4 months, our inverter has gone to standby mode/offline more than 150 times and it is not a healthy sign.

I'm attaching a sample excel file which one can download from the Growatt website, like that I need for a few inverters for 2-3 days. This would be very helpful to appeal my case.

Thanks,

antarya

Off-Grid

However, my system is connected to Eskom to load my lithium battery and seamlessly switches over when Eskom is down. I dont have PV's installed as yet. This is used to stomach load shedding currently.

If "storage" / "Hybrid" tab is empty then I am not sure where else to find the data. Just try checking all the tabs in that page and also checkout "More" section further.

If it is on-grid usually inverter has to have a slightly higher voltage than the utility to send the power to the grid. So, if it is off grid that issue won't be there regardless the inverter AC output should be monitored (learnt the hard way).

Does the app show those data?

HomeAssistant's Growatt add-in pulls in most of this data but cannot be downloaded like you showed it.

My Inverter is totally off Grid, so the conditions are different.
Attached my output voltage for today as provided by Solar Assistant.

Yes but this is via dedicated device like a Pi that captures data and subscription to Solar Assistant.

Correct, one dedicated link to inverter and one to the battery.

we are trying to get access to the data without a dedicated device. Some of it was possible at some stage.

Not quite sure why you believe the raw data that either goes to the Growatt server or the raw data read by the Pi would be any different. But here is the exported data from Growatt. The output voltages are still 230V.

Anyway to know at what power these voltages are given?

column AE in this last file contains the respective output power.

This is the data that Home Assistant Displays for my Growatt EFS5000.

It basically grabs the data, in this case the "Import from Grid" metric.

However, I cannot export this data to Excel.

On a sidenote, why would the import from grid sometimes be a negative value if I have an Off-Grid inverter type that does not have the ability to push back into the grid?

That may well be a software issue where certain triggers are erroneously interpreted as negative grid data.
My system is completely off grid and when I first got Solar Assistant I had Grid feed data being presented. The developer corrected this after I reported it.

Mike,

What was the API key? Did you get it from the Growatt by writing to them or is it available anywhere in public fourm?

Thanks

I had my installer obtain the token from Growatt. Had to put a request through OSS.

I have the token in my profile now and showing Authorised, but still get the same HTTPError 403 that Otto originally reported.

I have an SPH6000 Inverter. I do wonder if the code in https://pypi.org/project/growatt/ is updated to cater for this inverter model.

Is that number i get billed on

No, you get billed for what is reflected on the Municipal meter. Your Growatt data is just an indication what it measured as having been used from the grid.
These two values in the ideal world would be the same but chances are they never will be due to numerous factors, including calibration.

Herewith dashboard of my two Growatt custom made monitoring system for this month, as @zsde explains there is a slight discrepancy in the measurements maybe due to calibration and small losses, in my case is less than 0,5% almost negligible, as I take a reading of my pay meter and compare it on a daily basis. If you add the solar power +grid power = home use + battery power

Hi Antonio - can one make use of your dashboard?

How did you get this downloaded to excel?

@antarya explained it on page 2 of this thread

You export the data from the Growatt Device list tab.

Hello from Australia,

This thread has been very useful, so I thought I would share something i just discovered.
I have also had the issues with exporting data from the growatt web page, and I have resorted to installing homeassistant and letting it use the required API calls to sort me out, which works ok.

The trick of using the 'older/alternative' URL with plant.do in it works .. sometimes.. as soon as it works out you aren't 'new' it puts you back to the new site.

I found that you can generate a URL to 'share' your dashboard with others.  It looks very similar to the 'owner' dashboard in most respects, BUT, has the 'History Data' enabled.

From the main dashboard -> Energy Button

Choose 'Plant Management'
On the far right column, I see 'Operating Tools' and one icon is for 'Share Plant'
On the new window, put in your email address, how long it is effective, and press 'yes' to send yourself the email.

When you get the email, open the link in a different browser, or an incognito window. It shouldn't need to be logged in.

Then on the dashboard, when you scroll down to the 'My Photovoltaic Devices' you have the button 'History Data' instead of 'Setting' that you can usually see.

From here you can export a day of data at a time to an excel file (not great, but, better then nothing.)

Hope this helps someone!

(tested on a SPH5000)
