Occasionally, usually when there is a really bad bug, a very short expression like "warning 61" might appear in the file name for the firmware update file. 16 hours ago, Flouw said: The float bug... i only realised later on that the bulk duration was set to 5min only. August 11, 20232 yr @Coulomb im in the process of preparing 2 x Axpert king 3kw (24v) inverters to be paralleled. i have updated main firmware as per you last link shared on previous page. do i have to update the display firmware aswell to avoid issues with parallel? and would the latest display firmware of 02.66a work on these models? (removable dispay) looking forward to your valuable response.
August 12, 20232 yr 6 hours ago, Flouw said: do i have to update the display firmware as well to avoid issues with parallel? No, the display firmware mainly affects battery BMS communication. It won't interfere with paralleling. 6 hours ago, Flouw said: and would the latest display firmware of 02.66a work on these models? (removable dispay) The patched display firmware version 02.66a merely allows for proper display of the version number for patched main firmware. Since there is no patched firmware for 24 V models, you will get no benefit from this. If you do want to update the display firmware, you may as well use the latest factory firmware, which is currently 02.81. When we eventually release patched display firmware version 02.81b, it again won't help you since it needs patched main firmware to co-operate. August 13, 20232 yr so. a little update on updating the firmware on the 3kw king. inverters are not connected in parallel as yet, the second inverter is not connected to any input or output, except being connected to the battery to power the unit. i first set out to update the newly acquired inverter, that had rather old firmware. what i have noticed, with the 51.97 main firmware. i cant change some of the settings via SolarAssistant. (Input/Output settings and Miscellaneous settings) now, i dont know if this is the firmware issue, or communication issue, as i am able to change these using whatcpower. im unable to change, or even see the solar balancing setting on watchpower. then connected the inverter via bluetooth to my phone, and strange, battery "user" mode. i cant see/change any of the voltage parameters. just shows the UTI and MAX charge amp settings. thought this might be because of the very old display firmware. updated that to 02.81. still no change to anything. i then swopped around the cables to check my existing inverter is showing all, and to screenshot for comparison. (my installed inverter has 51.80 main firmware, and 02.68 display) everything working. then i though let me reflash the display firmware on the new inverter. and here is where it went south. i, by accident left the cable plugged into my installed inverter. realising this after sitting down to wait. and didnt want to risk cancelling the flash after it started. i left it to finish. so, the result. my installed inverter still has main firmware at 51.80. display on 02.81. all functions work in SolarAssistant as before. exception is on watchpower, im unable to see the solar balance setting function. what is strange, all the manuals to date mention this is only available for the 5kw units. but i was able to set and change this on the 3kw unit. and did actually worked as per the manual. this is the only function i have lost by updating the inverter's display. and i still have to figure out what else i have lost. so. now im still stuck, scared to update my current installed inverter from 51.80 to 51.97, to have matching firmware, and then lose some functions like on the other inverter. and i dont have a "rollback" version to go to. my existing inverters firmware worked flawlessly (for me), and if there was any issues, it might have been so small that it didnt affect me.

I cannot comment on anything on Watcpower or SA. Have you tried to change the settings you want directly on the inverter. The normal settings for charging is as you have it. You set the maximum grid charge and then subtracting this from the combined maximum provides the charge current from PV. This is how my 3kW works and to me as per the manual. I still have the same firmware I bought as was loaded on the inverter 3yrs ago. Edited August 13, 20232 yr by Scorp007 Sorry I missed that you have the King.

But see you have edited it. Small update. Seems like watchpower v1.16 doesnt have that function/button of power balance. Plugged in my other laptop today as the wife is busy with mine. So it seems like nothing has changed with the new installed display firmware. Everything well in the land of current installed inverter. BUT. im struggling with the new formware in the other inverter. It now shows all that functions. But has a long list of available batteries to choose from. Yet. I cant change the voltage settings. Neither on watchpower. Or the phone app. And when i try to set it on the inverter itself. It works. Till i restart it. Then it goes back to AGM battery setting.
August 13, 20232 yr So... another update. Ill edit the above posts in due course for ease of reference for future readers. Changed watchpower app again. Ver1.15sp9 - cant change voltage settings in user mode. Has the solar balance button. Ver1.16sp - all working forne. Except, foesnt have solar balance button. This would be a once off setting anyway. But neede to change it. As its not on the inverter display menu either. Then. With firmware 51.97. Cant change any voltages or battery parameters on the watcpower phone app. Also not the bulk charge duration. This is one of the issues. But since i can change it on the inverter itself. I can work around it. Ill see if i can find another set of firmware to try. Alternatively. Update both to 51.97. Forget about the bluetooth app completely. And get on with it in parallel mode.

The equalizing should always have a time limit as it cannot stay at this high level without damage to the battery.
August 13, 20232 yr Equilize is disabled. Bulk and float is currently set to 27.6v. Its been like that for 8 months now. And the battery is cycled daily. Not only for load shedding only. Edited August 13, 20232 yr by Flouw

Once you start a reflash, always let it finish; one of the first things it does is bulk erase all of the firmware flash memory. So stopping half way would mean that you only have half a flash image; that won't work. Fortunately, the bootstrap loader will realise this and won't jump to the bad code, but it means that your inverter does nothing except wait for another reflash. It appears to be "bricked". On 2023/08/13 at 9:18 PM, Flouw said: im unable to change, or even see the solar balancing setting on watchpower. I've never understood what the solar balance setting is good for; why would you ever want to change it from the default of being enabled? Edit: The 5 kW firmwares do support the PSPB command, just not setting 31 on the front panel. So actually I don't see why Watchpower should disable that command. Maybe it just disables it since the idea is that "Kings don't use solar balance". It's unclear to me whether they actually do use it or not; I'm surprised you said it works as advertised. Thank you for the response. My 3kw king doesnt have the power balance setting on the LCD display. Apparnetly the 5kw does. However. The setting is available on the older watchpower version. V1.15. And i could toggle it. And it did make a difference on max PV input. Linked to max charge setting. But i was unable to make any changes to battery voltages. Eg. Float. Bulk. Or even cut off. On watchpower 1.16. The power balance setting is not available. But doesnt bother. As once its set. Its set. Unless i run into issues later with a larger pv array having run aways once larger loads switch off. With watchpower 1.16 im able to set the voltages again. For some reason i recall i had watchpower 1.14. That had all the settings working perfectly. Aswell as the power balance. And had a setting for "any inverter can have PV". This settings seems to have disapeared on 1.15 and 1.16. Not sure if its linked to the dispay firmware upgrade. Or watchpower. EDIT: ive managed to find a Watchpower 1.14. all functions are back and changeable. seems like most of the issues where Watchpower giving me issues. doing any sort of battery settings on the bluetooth app is still unavailable. September 26, 2025Sep 26 I bought 2 x BMS JK-PB2A16S-15P for my two batteries and I wanted to connect them to my Voltronic Axpert VMIII 3kW-24V inverter. I found that in the menu in item 05 I only have 3 items, namely AGM, FLD and USE, there is no Pylontech and nothing else. I have the inverter connected via RPi4 to Solar Assistant, where in the settings I can change the type of battery connected to the inverter, but I don't think anything will change in the inverter, because there are no similar settings in its menu. I have attached the label on the inverter, with U1 being 20.58, U2 being 01.12 and U3 being 00.21. Can anyone recommend an update for my inverter so that I can connect it to the mentioned JK BMS?https://photos.app.goo.gl/bz2Q8q94P77jfWuC7https://photos.app.goo.gl/C8E65WNL3RqG9xjJ7(Google translate to English)

Is there one? Without a removable display, there is no ARM processor to talk to the BMS and to offer battery types of PYL and so on.I would also expect the U2 firmware version number to be 02.xx.
