LyricalYC Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Good day all Recently purchased a brand new Mecer 2400va invertor, and been set up complete with 2 x 12v batteries As of today Eskom went off and invertor switched to battery mode however the load, a basic home office setup didnt come on Prior to this it had worked Panel shows output of 224, no error or fault messages Tried pressing reset switch to no change Please help, thanks Quote
chrisc Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 There is a circuit-breaker at the rear. Push it in Check the output with a meter Quote
LyricalYC Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 thanks, i have pressed that countless times to no change, also the output reads as per screen however when on battery nothing is powered at all hope that makes sense Quote

Check if the charger is working. Do this when the grid is on as well as when you switch off the plug feeding the unit. See if charger works both ways to charge phone. Quote

You presumably paid more for the warranty support (compared to a clone direct from China, say). I believe that Mecer have decent repair centres too, for when it's out of warranty. Quote

The worst clone we were talking about some time ago with less than 15 settings packed up with some smoke within a few weeks and he managed to have it repaired by the seller. It has been running OK now for about 4 months. This does prove when buying from a seller with a workshop does help when venturing into the clone mine field. The picture in this case seems like a Mecer sold as a combo unit. Edited April 23, 2022 by Scorp007 Quote
LyricalYC Posted April 25, 2022 Author Posted April 25, 2022 thank you all, it is a genuine Mecer unit, challenge it will cost nearly same to ship it back to supplier as unit was sent out of country i have however concluded the breaker is faulty, non responsive and would like to replace it. where can i source an L2 series 2 ups 15a breaker, i seem to be landing on 20A or 50A ones however want to try replace with exact one on faulty unit (see pictures) either an online store or physical store in Joburg West area will do Thank you Quote

Have you checked that the overload button on the left is not in a tripped state. Press it before switching on. Quote

Push it in Check the output with a meter Hi, is the circuit breaker button like one in a DB for example? I have the Mercer 1200VA inverter. The battery only last an hour if we are lucky. Only 1 tv with the DSTV connected. Is the CB Button suppose to be clicking or hard to press in. At the moment nothing happens when I press it. How do you check the output (what rype of meter)? We purchased the Inverter in December 2022. Thank you Quote
Yashin Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 Hey guys, I have a Mecer Lobo 1200va inverter. So everything is connected fine with battery and also plugged into the wall socket the unit is dead. Screen and warning lights does not come on and nothing happens. When I play with the power button and push it a few times the screen sometimes come on but like for a split second, flashes and off again. Any ideas on what could be the problem? Quote

If it's several years old, it might be possible to replace a few capacitors and get it going. 23 hours ago, Yashin said: fine with battery How confident are you of the battery's health? Can you put a multimeter on it and report the voltage before and after switching on? Especially one of the times it comes on a little. Quote
Romeo Peters Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Hi My Mercer 720w inverter charges battery when power switched of it displays a output voltage of 235v (AC) and the Battery displays 100% with orange led on but there is no output voltage on the sockets.I tested the circuit breaker it test good on continuity(Note this CB is for AC supply incomer not to reset battery output voltage). Note when switching off the supply power there is a click sound from the relays and the machine changes over from standby to inverter mode. with no voltage when measured and the outlet sockets on the unit. What could be possible causes to this if possible a schematic diagram of the circuit would help. Quote
PaulMo Posted Friday at 10:59 Posted Friday at 10:59 Hey, Romeo Peters any luck with circuit diagram? My unit goes into fault interlock, and I don't know where to start! PaulMo Quote
