May 16, 20224 yr Does anyone use a Sunsynk 5kW or 8kW with the Shoto SDA10-48/100 battery and do these items communicate properly with each other?
May 16, 20224 yr Hello, I have 2 shoto batteries however I do not have the battery to battery comms cable as the one that comes in the box is too short. So for now the comms is not great. Do you know where I can get this comms cable from?
May 18, 20224 yr I have a Deye and Shoto, they communicate via the CAN. Works well. Software between Deye and Sunsynk i think is different though
May 22, 20224 yr I can get my 2 x Shoto's to communicate with each other with pins 1 and 2. But then the CAN coms don't work properly (the batteries and inverter eventually get out of sync). So for now I'm just leaving my coms on pins 1 and 5 (as per my manual). My biggest regret on my solar journey is not going with hubble

You don't want one to be discharging or charging faster than the other as this puts more strain on one of them

Eventually the batteries would be at around 40-45% each, but the inverter is saying that on 50%. If I swap the pins back to 5 (master) and 1 for slave, the inverter updates to that 45%.

May 28, 20224 yr Author Thanks for all the feedback, guys, I ended up plunging for a 8k2Wh BSL instead... seems to communicate ok via CANbus, now to see whether there is a way to talk to the battery via either RS232 or RS485 to get more detailed data like @ItherNiT's battery monitor above... Next query 🙂 does anyone know the pin-outs of the connectors on the BSL batteries for the RS232 and/or the RS485 ports?
May 28, 20224 yr Good choice.. Only issue if you need more battery then you have to buy in denominators or 8.2kw 😏..

Where can one obtain this software from, and can you connect this to the battery via the Lan cables, I'm looking for something where I can obtain the cycles that is left in my batteries
