FrancoisFrundt Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 Hy Guys, I am trying to set up my BMS but the inverter is not communicating with the batteries. I have a 8kW inverter with 2 US 3000 batteries. I have tried the settings in both manuals. I have switched the batteries on and off and now the SOC is not displaying correctly. It was on 70% but now it is showing 100% Quote

Nexuss Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Your BMS comms is not working if the LiBMS screen looks like that . I see it looks like you have the US3000B? I am not sure how the settings for those work but it should say in the manual. Quote
FrancoisFrundt Posted May 20, 2022 Author Posted May 20, 2022 Thanks, It just says US3000 on the battery so I suppose it could be a B. I have tried the settings in the manual but no luck. I suspect it is the cable. I have found this document. Will test the cable and see. Sunsynk Hybrid Inverters with lithium-ion batteries v3.pdf Quote
Jameel Fakee Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Hi there. Did you manage to fix this? I have the same issue with my 8kw sunsynk inverter and 2x5kw batteries Quote
FrancoisFrundt Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Hi! Yes I did. I just changed the cable and then it worked. I switched the batteries off changed the cable to a standard RJ45 ethernet cable and it worked. Quote
markus_m2 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Standard RJ45 won't work for @Jameel Fakee. Jameel you haven't mentioned what battery manufacturer; almost certain though you'll need a certain RJ45 cable (or you could crimp one yourself based in pinout diagrams in inverter and battery) Quote
Christoph Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I can not get the battery communicate saw a instruction pdf online from .. solar supplies, they say connect the yellow cable on the can port on the battery and BMS/CAN on the inverter and only dip switch 1 in on position everything else OFF. I have done that but it does not work, even reset the inverter to factory settings I tried a different R45 cable same result, even measured RJ45cables with tester, both cables are standard RJ45. Can anyone tell me if the yellow cable suppled does work or where I am going wrong please. Thank You Christoph SUNSYNK-PYLONTECH-WRITE-UP-12 battery connection setup 16032023.docx Quote
Christoph Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Sorry UUUPS Pylontech US3000C, Thanks you Christoph Quote
markus_m2 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I suspect thats the issue - the US3000C uses a different cable compared to the older US3000s (different pin-outs). You'll need to crimp a new plug on according to correct pin outs (steps have been discussed in other threads) or buy the appropriate cable. Quote
