July 2, 20223 yr Morning I bought a Mecer/ AXPERT SOL-I-AX-5M4 inverter and M3000 ESS Lithium Ion Battery. Did the Installation and connect the inverter to the AC Power and switched it on. All came up and LCD screen light up. Switched the unit off and connect the battery via the 25mmsq Battery cables, connected the earth cable between the Battery, Inverter and Distribution Board. Then switched the Battery on, and then the Inverter. The Inverter Started up, battery seems to start charging as well, however no display on the Inverter LCD panel. I switched off the Mains Power, and the system took the load and all seems to work fine, still no LCD Display. Still need to change some parameters on the Inverter. After a while, I assume that when the battery were fully charged the system trip / loose power and start-up again, trip and start up again - then I switched it off. Any idea what I missed or did wrong? Your assistance will be appreciated. Thanks Abie

As for the reset, it's hard to tell without the LC Display working. Does the display come up now with AC-in but battery disconnected, as it did first time?
July 3, 20223 yr Author Nope, + to Positive and - to Negative, and still no display. Will disconnect and return it to the supplier on Monday for a swap-out.

The first thing to connect to the inverter is the battery, before anything else. The display should come on immediately. That allows you to set 28 to SIG for a stand alone unit before switching it on. If the display doesn't, there is a serous problem and should be resolved by the seller.
September 15, 20223 yr Hi All, Where can I find the manual for this model inverter? Been searching the web but can only come close with the "SOL-I-AX-3.MAX / SOL-I-AX-8M SOLAR INVERTER / CHARGER" manuals. Thanks in advance!

Assuming it's a genuine Voltronic manual, you can download it from the Voltronic site (under downloads, from poor memory). You need to register (free) and use a password. If you know how to translate the model name to the MPPSolar equivalent, mppsolar.com has them without the slight hassle of registering or using a password.
January 10, 20233 yr need some assistance please, I follow the manual instructions but can't get the final wifi config correct. want remote access onto the device SOL-I-AX-5M4
February 4, 20233 yr Hi, I also have SOL-I-AX-5M4. Have coupled 2 x Dyness A48100 lithium Batteries. Only the one battery charge untill full. Please advise. Adam

Please post a photo of the battery cable connections at the battery end. The other possibility is that the battery modules were paralleled with different states of charge. In that case, you can disconnect them, leaving the one with the lower state of charge on the inverter. Charge that one until it's close to the same state of charge as the first, then reconnect them. It's also possible that they will balance the charge between themselves better over time, in which case you don't need to do anything. Edited February 5, 20233 yr by Coulomb
March 31, 20233 yr My battery charging status in line mode displays the 0-24% in red, 25-49% in green, 50-74% in green and 75-100% in green. Why is the 0-24% red? The monitoring system say batteries are 100% loaded

I think it's just saying that if you have a lead acid battery and it gets down that low (below 25% SoC), then your battery is in trouble. That's probably all.
July 30, 20232 yr Hi guys, need some help regarding my new setup which is the same to OP: Mecer SOL-I-AX-5M4 Mecer M3000 ESS Currently only charged through city power, no panels installed yet. Initially it gave a 08 error and I did some searching on the forum and changed to below settings: 1: USB 2: 40A 5: USE 11: 30A 12: 48V 13: 51V 16: LBD 26: 53.5V 27: 52.5V 29: 47V So now the inverter doesnt give 08 error but I noticed that the battery is not charging, status shows charging but 0A is on home screen. Any idea what could be the issue? The M3000 came with a few different types of com-inverter cables: Type 1: GDW/SOLIS/GROWATT/DEYE/RENAC/SMA/SUNNYK/DELLOS/SAJ Type 2: AXPERT-KING Type 3: LUX Type 4: VICTRON Type 5: GROWATT Which cable should I be using? Should it be connected as: Battery -> IN Port (CAN) Inverter > BMS Port Lastly im using this as a singular setup, the DIP switch 1-4 currently only 3 is on, is this correct? Thank you.

August 6, 20241 yr 2 hours ago, Randhesh said: when the sun sets and the PV stops working the inverter cuts off and switches everything off and restarts the inverter, I believe that the Mecer M3000 are rebranded Pylontechs, so they are 15S LFP. That means that the emergency overvoltage protection kicks in at about 15x3.6 = 54.0 V. You are charging to 55.0 V and even floating at 54.0 V, so the battery BMS is likely disconnecting from the inverter to try and save the cells. My theory is that this is the reason for the inverter shutting down. I suggest 52.5 V and 51.8 V for the bulk and float voltage settings respectively. This should also enable longer life of the battery, at the cost of a percent or so of runtime. The back to discharge voltage should be changed to 51 V; possibly 50 V if you want to save more on utility use. Since you have two battery modules in parallel, each capable of charging at 37 A, I suggest raising the maximum charge current to 70 A. Edited August 6, 20241 yr by Coulomb
August 12, 20241 yr Hi Coulomb, what you advised above is exactly what was happening, as i have made those changes and for couple of days now i left as SUB and it did not cut off. Really appreciate the assistance. Regards, Randhesh
November 15, 20241 yr 5 minutes ago, Randhesh said: Hi, Quick question, with my current setup: i have a Mecer 5600 Inverter 9*450 panels on one string 6*330 panel on another string. Stringer box (connector box) with 4 PV on this box Issue im noticing: PV1 has 9*450watts panels connected (one set of wires connected here 6mm solar cable) PV3 has 6*330watts panels connected (another set of solar wires connected here with another set of 6mm solar cables) The inverter in not showing full voltage when i have both the PVs from the connector box on as the panels are generating say 3500watts from panels but voltage is 230 volts and sometimes lower however when i drop the 6*330 watts on the connector box(PV3), the volts from the PV1, the volts go up to 350v shown on the inverter. Can anyone adivse whats most probably the issue of not getting full output? Thanks. I presume you PV1 and 3 are connected in parallel. The 6 panels are dictating the volts of the combined 2 strings. Panels in parallel will give a output at the lower string of those connected. When in parallel 3 panels are thus wasted. Best to add 3 more to the string of 6 if space permits.
