Axpert 1000w inverter switches over to float charge within a few seconds every time I turn on the inverter(with a 60% charged, 200ah Lithium battery connected)

Featured Replies

I just purchased the Revov 12V 200Ah 2.56kWh lithium ion battery and It seems there is something wrong with charging the battery.

I configured the following:
1. Changed the inverter to user defined mode
2. Changed setting 26, bulk charging to 14.1V
3. Changed setting 27, float charging to 13.7V
4. Changed setting29, low DC cutoff to 11.5V

The problem is, the inverter switches to float charging without the battery being fully charged:

See image at the bottom,
A In the picture below you will see A charging at bulk, when I installed the unit.
B Changes over to float charging with battery sitting at 60% cap
C Stays in bulk charging only for a few seconds when I stop charging by switching the inverter off and on.

? At B, I see 10 A of battery charging. Are you sure that this is in float stage? I.e. is the charge LED on solid, no longer flashing (as it would be in bulk charging)?

I'll agree that the charging is weird. Is this a PWM model or MPPT?

Thanks for the reply Coulomb, it is the MPPT model. I got the following response from the guys where I bought it:

Hi,

If the voltage is between 13.7v and 14.1v then the battery is in fact full.

If these are the settings you got from them then the App you are using may be inaccurate.

I guess I just have to use it for it to work correctly.

Yo

I got the same battery you have and these come with built-in BMS supporting bluetooth. Download the app called 'XiaoXiangBMS' and you should be able to see measurements of the BMS itself.

(OT: The app showed me that my batteries were out of sync by as much as 11%, which prompted me to get a battery balancer, since my inverter doesn't talk directly to the batteries).

Good you posted this as I was going to say you might never reach 14.1V to end bulk. My Mecer 200A have never been at 13.7V after settling after a charge. Only during charging does it reach 13.7V. Your 13.55V while charging at 7A perhaps shows it is not fully charged yet.

I find the same on my S-100's.
