July 18, 20223 yr Hi, I'm new to this forum and hope that someone can explain my problem/not-problem. I've upgraded from an Axpert 3Kva Inverter(no CAN connection) with a single 24V Pylontech UP2500 battery to a LUXPowerTek SNA5000 with a 48v SHOTO 5.1Kwh battery with CAN connection. CAN Cable correctly made according to Luxpower Manual. On my old system I used Whatchpower 1.4 with a USB to Serial connection to the RS232 port. It showed me charging to 100% and it stayed 100 until load-shedding after which it discharge to about 92% with my usage and re-charge to 100% when AC is restored. All good and normal. My NEW system has WiFi connection to LuxpowerView (online website and Android APP). This shows my battery charging to 100% and then discharging approximately +-45Watt constantly. It then shows 97% battery until load-shedding where it discharges further till 84%. After AC is restored it re-charges back to 100% and starts the discharging again. Is this normal?

Yes the inverter is using this 45W to operate and calculate what to do. Funny you never say the 24V unit using about 25W all the time discharging the battery as well. It does depend how long after charge you get LS. Edited July 18, 20223 yr by Scorp007
July 22, 20223 yr Author Hi Scorp007, The 24V system does not show that the Inverter is using power from the battery. It shows the 24V batter as 100% charged all the time. I presume it is a limitation from Watchpower software. Thanks for the reply.

If you have PV you won't notice it. All hybrids use power while standing idle. One brand was recently begin quoted as over 100W. I cannot(dare not) comment on how good the fancy monitoring software is. I have seen some funny readings from members. Edited July 22, 20223 yr by Scorp007
July 23, 20223 yr I am also new to this ... so excuse my newbness. I have a 5kw Deye Hybrid inverter with a 5.1kwh CFE 5100 S battery with no solar at this stage. At first I had an issue with the battery constantly showing fault and run at the same time, but it was due to battery capacity set to 200ah instead of 100ah. The comms port was also plugged into the 485 port instead of the CAN port. After fixing this, comms seems to be good and no more fault light. I have two issues that I would like clarity and assistance on if possible. Issue #1 - I am unable to connect to my CFE battery with the CFE App from their website. I have tried the alternative app as well from another thread in here and the steps still do not work. I think it might be an issue with the firmware requiring and upgrade, but I don't see a guide on how to do this or where to get the app to do this. Is it really necessary to be able to connect with my battery if I can already see the details of the battery on my invert's Solarman app? I am not sure if any settings needs to be set on the CFE App. Issue #2 - On my inverter and Solarman app, I have the same screen animation depicting the following when the eskom / grid power is on. a. Grid to ON / middle b. Battery (100%) to ON / middle c. ON / middle to house It does this until my battery is down from 100 to about 92%, then it changes around for point b above where it is ON / middle to Battery until it is 100%. I have had my charge and discharge setting at 25 and 60 previously, but changed it back to the default 40 on both. Is this normal? Should I be changing any settings to stop this? It basically creates a saw tooth graph essentially in my solarman app.

April 13, 20233 yr Hi Nick, To answer your question on: This shows my battery charging to 100% and then discharging approximately +-45Watt constantly. It then shows 97% battery until load-shedding where it discharges further till 84%. After AC is restored it re-charges back to 100% and starts the discharging again. Is this normal? ------------ Not sure if your issue has been resolved: I have the same setup as you. No solar. I resolved it by doing the following: On your settings (either app or PC) section under Application Setting. Change AC first Start Time 1 to: 00:00 and AC first End Time 1 to: 23:59. This basically forces the inverter to use grid power only and not some of the battery power as well. And when the grid goes off the battery kicks in. Plain and simple. You will still see that the battery discharging at around 20w when full but i think this is normal. I recon the inverter is just keeping the battery a bit active. Your battery will stay at 100% for a couple of hours and will drop to 99% due to the slow discharge. Hope this helps.
