September 21, 20223 yr Hi All New to this forum but have been directed here by members from AVFORUMS. Thought i would be able to get by as i have for the last pre-teen years of Eskoms Alternate energy program but with working from home becoming a norm and loadshedding getting longer its time to put contingencies in place. dont intend on leaving the country just due to eskom so i guess the only alternative is try slowly build a no eskom system. Late to the party but as they say better late than pregnant. hope the experienced here will tolerate another newbie. Cheers Adriano
September 22, 20223 yr Welcome! I agree with your view around leaving the country because of power outages. Installing solar is cheap solution (compared to the alternative). I watch the weather patterns more closely than the loadshedding schedules.
September 23, 20223 yr Hi Adriano, Your sentiments are shared by many on this forum. As best said " starting in Solar was best done 5 yrs ago, the next best time is today!". There many options to do this. Starting with a user requirement & asking yourself what are you trying to achieve is a great way to start. Once you establish the problem you trying to address then choosing the equipment to solve those problems becomes clear. There is a lot of info already archived on this forum so soak up as much as you can absorb.
