October 2, 20223 yr That looks like a transformer, not an inverter. It seems to have a 1900V primary. Is that a distribution voltage in South Africa? It seems very low for a distribution voltage, and very high for a load voltage. I don't think you'll get many takers. Maybe you can get a bit for scrap metal? Assuming that you came across it legally, of course.

I believe from substation to endpoints are 11kv. 1.9kv appears to me like a private spur for farms etc which cant afford complilcated voltage overhead infrastructure but still keeping copper size down.

Not necessarily Bloemfontein municipality, Bloemfontein transformers is the name of the manufacture, I've been to that factory.
October 8, 20223 yr It remains a very odd voltage. Standard voltages are normally 3.3, 6.6, 11, 22, 33kV and higher on the primary side. High power induction motors do use 3.3 and 6.6 kV.
