There are no sanctions for members who ask legitimate and reasonable questions, and there are also no "special rules" for the type of questions that installers, nor any other vocation for that matter, may ask. Members are also expected to keep personal grievances out of the public forums, that is what private messaging facilities are for.

The Powerforum is hugely popular and spammers know this, so they (and their bots) try their luck at posting spam on the forums. This usually gets picked up by members and reported to the Mods, who deal with it fairly quickly. In your case, it looks like your settings are "watching" some forums and are configured to send you an email every time that there is a new post in that forum, which means that the spam posts are emailed to you. If this concerns you, then we recommend that you alter your settings to un-watch these forums, or that you set it to not notify you via email.

I am glad that you have pointed out that people should read things thoroughly. You may want to start with the Terms of Service of The Powerforum, where you will notice that The Administrator and Moderator's decisions are final, so please do not argue with them. I am encouraged by that fact that you have apologised to the offended member. Well done! This means a lot, and speaks to your own social skills and abilities. The Powerforum has a preference for members who are even tempered, helpful, considerate, well mannered and generally nice. These are qualities that have built The Powerforum into the great online community and respected online resource that it is today.
