System Setup

Featured Replies

Sorry if this was asked before.

My setup

Growatt SPF5000ES

2x51.2v 100Ah 5.1Kw lithium batteries from LBSA

8x 460 Canadian Solar panels

At the moment I am using the LI setting with protocol 51

Master battery dip switch 5 and slave 1 as per manual

Battery Charge ,Bulk and Float setting is on 56.2Volt

Battery cut off voltage is at 44volt

It doesnt matter how I set it but I can not get the batteries above 54 volt even with the batteries showing 100%

Is it the BMS controlling the batteries now.

The system is performing well but I am just scared that I can not get the required voltages to the battery.

Someone suggested that I remove the comms cable ,set all dip switches to 0 and set the battery type to USER with the parameters that`s on the batteries.

Cheers

Sounds a bit on the low end of the scale... 44V/16Cells=2.75V per cell, I'd not want to go lower than 2.9V, even 3V is probably a better minimum...

The charge float etc. at 56.2V is a tad high, but not exceeding the max V per cell, at 3.5125V, but the assumption here always is that all cells are balanced... The cells will probably settle at around 53.6V, once charged and not being charged or discharged... that would be 3.35V per cell if they're all balanced..., I'd imagine...

@zs1ssm LBSA recommended settings are Charge voltage 56 V --- Float 54 V --- Cut out 44 V

Mine are as follows: Charge voltage 55.6 V float 53 V cut out voltage 50,2 V, once a mount I charge it to 56,2 V and float 55,5 V for a while to balance all the cells.

I think that your dip switches settings are not correct I think it should be master o and slave 1, but I would recommend contacting LBSA they will advise you

The only thing I dislike about LBSA battery is in my opinion the STUPID cycle count, it counts one cycle every time it goes bellow 80% SOC, otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with its performance.

I have same inverter and same battery, I control my system using the setting on the inverter, no BMS coms however, the battery BMS will still do what is designed to do in order to protect the integrity of the battery.  I see that once any of the cells reach 3,5 V starts to equalize and if any cell reaches 3,6 V stops charging all together. See attached dashboard the last 7 days.
