Good afternoon,

Please can I get some professional advice. I have a solar set in existence but I would like to add wind power. My current set up is as follows:

2x5kw Mecer inverters

4x5.6kwh GCL Lithium batteries

15x275w panels

15x340w panels

3x300w panels

What kind of wind turbine can be added into this system to help in days of continuous rain?

I'm not technical at all. I have been looking for turbines to no avail. I have seen Tesup but I can't handle the way the do business. You can't talk to them.

Sorry for a mixed up question, I searched for a similar thread without success.

Hey, I can't give you professional advice, but from my previous research into the topic when going off grid it all seems very scammy to me, which I think you are discovering with Tesup (I think you dodged a bullet).

On the technical side you won't be able to plug the turbine into your current inverters you will need a special inverter as the power delivered is quite 'dirty' and when I priced them previously they were very expensive.

You also need to be sure you have the right conditions for a wind turbine... they don't like strong wind, or gusty winds so you need to be in the right area for it to work properly.

You can have a look in the wind power section of the forum for more info: https://powerforum.co.za/forum/7-wind-power/

I will just say be very sure you do good research. Maintenance is very high and lots of noise. There may be ways of using it if your Inverters have the high over 120V MPPT. If not just get the right external MPPT to charge the battery.

Thank you
