Hi Everyone,

I have a Mecer 5kw SOL-I-AX-5VP inverter that was setup with 4 X deep cycle batteries.

We have connected up a Dyness 5kw lithium battery and have adjusted the settings to lithium option on the inverter and connected up the network cable.

The installer set the dip switch to 3 on the battery but from what I can see in the manual it should be on 2 as I assume this inverter falls under Axpert device?

Unfortunately I was not happy with the installer he was meant to add longer battery cables and network cables and he did not so I don't trust he has set it up correctly.

Please let me know if I am correct in changing the dip switch to 2 and if there is anything else I should be checking?

Many thanks for the help.

Daniel

Post the label so we can see the exact model, but typically the Mecer inverters are rebranded Axperts, yes

Also, ensure you have the correct pinouts on the cables, sometimes a standard ethernet cable isn't correct

So I see the communication cable is connected into the CAN in. Shouldn't it be in the out option so that the battery let's the inverter know what to do?

For the moment I have set:

bulk charge to 56.5

float charging to 55.5

Pin To 2 for Axpert inverter

What should the DC cut off be?

The above and float is what the user manual said it should be. Does this all sound correct? How do you know if the coms cable is going what it's meant to be doing?

Thanks again Daniel

Cable from Inverter goes to the IN port on the battery. The OUT port is used for intra-battery comms when you have more than 1 battery connected. When you change the PIN settings you need to restart your battery - switch it off then after about 5 seconds on again and hold the SW button for 3 seconds

Hi folks - I have this exact setup - and it works wonderfully. I have connected a comms cable from the Inverters rs232 port (rj45 connector) to the batter can bus IN port (rj45 connector). I have used the cable that was supplied with my inverter and the one labelled Axpert-K. Is this the correct cable? Secondly, I have setup Solar Assistant to monitor the system via a raspberry Pi. The software is setup to use 'Inverter Values' for the battery. It shows the voltages of the battery, state of charge, etc but not the temperature. I'm lead to believe that maybe the battery is not communicating correctly to the inverter. Is there a way to test this comms, assuming that everything above is correct? Regards, Collin
