Posted January 12, 20232 yr Hi guys, what would you say are the best Inverter (no solar - yet, for later yes) of about 5KW right now... considering availability, cost and quality? Thanks!
January 13, 20232 yr Depends a lot on budget. If you are serious about getting solar at a later stage I would look at a Sunsynk - they are getting really good reviews and are well supported. Sunsynk is not as good as a Victron but the pricing is a lot better. If solar is not an option then a Mecer (Axpert) inverter will do the job.
January 13, 20232 yr @CliveSAInteresting, why is Axpert not a candidate when you considering solar? Edited January 13, 20232 yr by BritishRacingGreen
January 13, 20232 yr SUNSYNK, DEYE, Solis RHI, LUXPOWER, PHOCOS, KODAK, Axpert Check on availability.
January 13, 20232 yr Just check if the axpert, like mecer has the floating bug issue. Mine does so the floating voltage needs to be set high which isn't great , else it never charges under over the floating voltage it seems and also the mecer axpert (not sure about others) doesn't seem to be able to take a battery past 50 percent whereas lithium battery can go to 30 percent discharge - meaning if you go lithium later you are giving away 20 percent usage for nothing.

I have an Axpert Mks4 5.6 and that issue is definitely not present, this is the first? time i'm hearing of it

How are you setting a voltage value as a percentage? Here's a screenshot from the watchtower app where I set the battery cutoff voltage. It's a voltage value, not a percentage

You can also get in touch with @Steve87 in order to gain insight and how workarounds exist for unpatched software.
January 17, 20232 yr Thanks Guys, I have decided to go with the Freedom Won Lite Home 10/8 and just need an appropriate 5KV inverter to suite that has no bugs in it that can be set to go to 70/80 percet of DOD and correct float voltage settings.
