Just stumbled across this.

I think this may be a vehicle detection type of device which will trigger some sort of change in the robot's switching.

Vehicle detected, change to a different state.

I've seen this in JHB, primarily on intersections where one road carries more traffic and thus this would allow it to remain green for this road for a longer period and only really change if a vehicle is detected on the quieter road.

Very interesting thank you. I'm interested in their boom. If they can move up or down or rotate.
