Just to hear how you guys clean the panels and how often? Has anyone designed a self cleaning system?

I'm sure it plays a rather big role in the performance of the panels?

I clean them after every big western cape veld fire. IE once or twice in summer. Rest of the year they fend for themselves :-) 

Once a month here in the Karoo.

 

Once a month during winter only in Joburg, rain will generally do the job in summer. I see a difference of about 5-10%, so useful but not spectacular.

You also asked how. Bucket of soapy water and a window squeegee. Like cleaning a car windshield. 

I see just spraying them down doesn't quite do the job. So an automated spray would not really do the job as it needs to be washed down. The Free State dust can be a real problem!
