May 31, 20233 yr Just installed a Growatt SPF 5000es into my system I had a Sigineer 5000H and they both have the same problem they won’t charge the batteries. Good voltage coming from the array supplying ac to the house but won’t charge. 48v flooded batteries
May 31, 20233 yr Not much to go on here. Provide the detail and specs of your total system and also your current settings on your Inverter.
May 31, 20233 yr The spf 5000es is a straight forward machine either you installed everything correctly or you haven't. Show us a picture of the voltage screen.
May 31, 20233 yr Author Thanks for the response. If I run the generator the solar will go to charge the batteries as the gen supplies the ac load. If I don’t run the gen the solar and batteries only supply the ac load. Is there a way to set it so the solar charges the batteries as the first priority? That’s what my old one did. It would always charge the batteries first.
May 31, 20233 yr Your Solar voltage at 131,5V. Is this in daytime? How many panels have you got and what is their configuration and specs? This inverter has a MPPT startup voltage of 150V + or - 10V State all your program settings from 01 through to 23 Edited May 31, 20233 yr by zsde
May 31, 20233 yr Author Cloudy day yes, I have 9 panels 370w in 3 panel strings on this array. I’m finding out that this inverter seems to be programmed to prioritize the loads not the charging. I can send the program settings also

If your array was wired as 3S 3P then both your previous and current Inverter will basically not have enough Voltage from the panels to operate consistently. Lets assume your panels are 40V VOC. That would give you around 120V for a 3 panel string. This Inverter MPPT operates between 120-430V DC with a startup of 150V. Not knowing your panel specs and working an the assumed 40VDC, you should string all 9 panels in series which would then give you ~360V. Edited June 1, 20233 yr by zsde
June 1, 20233 yr I think we found the issue 9s should be closer to 300volts. 3s 3p is incorrect for this inverter which is a high voltage model 450v.

June 1, 20233 yr Author Sorry that was a brain malfunction I have two array’s. One is 18x 370 watt panels 48.2voc they were in 3 panel strings now in 6 panel strings. Pointing north at 22degrees I’m in the southern Amazon jungle in peru. I am charging 16 6v 600ah ultracell flooded batteries. I also have an Outback charge control connected to another string of 9x 445w 48.9 voc panels. These I have pointing west to grab the latest sun of the day to top off the batteries.
