Specifically: https://hager.com/intl-en/products/information/mjn725-mcb-1pn-45ka-c-25a-1m I know CBI list their breakers and earth leakages as "Suitable to use for electrical isolation" I assume that means they can be reconnected under load, just not sure if Hager is the same?

I don't see mention of on load reconnecting though, so presumably an isolator is still required or are there some that can also do reconnects under load? But then the typical domestic person is usually taught to isolate after trips before re-engaging the breaker 🤔

June 19, 20233 yr There is no separate rating or requirement for reconnection. (Looking at the IEC definitions, a circuit breaker must be rated for on and off load operation in both senses.)

June 19, 20233 yr There is a fault current stipulated on each breaker normally in "kA" that is the fault current the breaker could carry before it is destroyed. @rinnersyou Hager breaker has a fault carrying capacity of 4000 amps.

Stove wiring size 4mm² so you need dedicated 32 amp breaker from the db and 40 amp isolator. If it is a standard 4 plate stove with oven then you can not run it off a 16 amp socket outlet.

Also very practical. A guy needs to work on the heat pump and perhaps switch it on/off a few times. If rainy no muddy boots through your house as he might not even have to enter the house :). Although an added expense I see just good in it.
